Being a lover of all things beauty, I'm constantly looking out for new things to try be it skincare or makeup. So when Luxola contacted me and offered to send me some Mario Badescu samples, I quickly jumped at the opportunity to try out this brand. To be honest, it's a brand that I've heard quite some time back cos it's associated with various celebs such as Jennifer Aniston, Kate Moss and Gwyneth Paltrow but I've never seen their products anywhere. So it's nice to know that Luxola now carry this brand!

Anyway, I was expecting sample sized (read: tiny) products but I was pleasantly surprised to be sent full sized products as you can see in the pic below. The products came in simple, no-frills packaging which is kind of refreshing. I've been trying both products out for the past 2 weeks and am happy to give you my report.

Mario Badescu Aloe Vera Toner

So this is a water-y based kind of toner and basically I just used it on some cotton pad to my face. I found this toner to be really mild and light which suited my skin just fine. It didn't dry out my skin or tighten my face and it has the lightest scent. I think this is really suitable as a daily toner and will probably work best for those who have sensitive skin. Another thing I loved about it is the little spout or lid where you pour out the toner, it's so easy to use!

Mario Badescu Enzyme Revitalizing Mask

I've been using this mask 2 to 3 times a week and loving it so far. The mask itself has a medium-thick creamy consistency. I apply it all over my face and leave it on for 20 minutes and when I rinsed it all off, my face feels so clean and refreshed. It also literally brightened up and made my skin look fairer. I'm not sure if I will put it in my holy grail of masks cos I'm more of a sleeping mask kinda person (yea, so lazy lol) but I will definitely still keep this mask in my skincare routine at least twice a week.

It's been a couple of months since we celebrated megan turning 1! But I wanted to share some pics and details from the birthday party we had for her...had such a fun time planning the deco and all...though I don't think I wanna do it again anytime soon lol!

We also just returned home from a vacation trip to Germany, salzburg and prague so I will be posting up more pics hopefully soon, fingers crossed ♡

So its been awhile. A really long while. Being a mom sure takes up all your free time, in case you didn't know that already. But I'm more happy and complete with the presence of this little person, whose growing at such a speedy rate, I could hardly catch up! Is it crazy that I'm already planning her birthday party which is 3 months to go?

Just some pics of our little family the other day. Still can't believe how blessed I am to have these two in my life. My little one is about to hit the half year mark in a matter of days and it's just so much fun watching her grow day by day. She's been down with the flu the past few days but she's such a Lil trooper that she still grace us with her smiles through it all. Gosh, I still can't believe this little human being is mine. How can I not love her more and more each day? I suppose this is what all mothers feel lol:)

Have you guys been missing this pretty lil baby? She's 5 months old today! It's quite amazing how much she grows and develops each and every week. I can even see her bottom tooth sprouting out already. She can now sit on her own and she's so active that i can hardly keep up with her! She loves baby talking with us too, super duper cute :)

Just a simple outfit from a few weeks back. I really feel like scaling back the size of my closet. Perhaps even selling most of them *gasps*. It's funny, I've been looking back at some of my previous posts back in the day, it's really strange to see how much my style and I've changed since I started blogging. I guess this is what growing up is all about. Well, definitely since I even have myself a baby now :)

Where have I been you asked? Glued to the korean drama, "My love from another star" or "You who came from the star" of course! The lead actress's costumes are just to die for, I may just have to watch it again purely to see her outfits :)

I've shared of my new found love for basics that I can mix and match in my previous posts, so when I was offered to review a product from Dresslily, I immediately chose this Zara inspired skort.  I know they are everywhere you see lately, but I thought it would be refreshing to have a basic item with a twist to it. As the assymetrical hemline is striking enough, I kept the rest of the outfit simple and elegant with a striped top. And of course, I had to pop a bright red lip to pair up with this monochromatic look. I'm still thinking what what I can pair this skort with, so any suggestions would be lovely.

So here I am, continuing the theme of easy, basic separates to drape in. What says easy and basic better than a grey jumper and a simple midi skirt? To be honest, I would never thought I would be craving for basics but the heart wants what it wants! Of course, I still had to jazz basics up with a blinged necklace, it wouldn't be me if I didn't :)

My babe is getting heavier and it was quite an exercise carrying her in these pics. So let's see how long I can keep this up lol!

As you can see here, my little babe is all chubby-fied and has been joining me in my photoshoots recently. I've been telling people that she's my new favourite accessory, I've to bring her wherever I go! Haha, in truth she's probably annoyed at being coerced into these shoots :D

It's been harder to dress up nowadays as I'm still breastfeeding, this has led me to abandon all my go-to dresses due to practicality's sake. I have to now opt for simple, easy separates that I can mix and match with that has made me think out of the box rather than just relying on my faithful dresses. I can't wait to see where this journey of style-discovery will lead me! Being a mama sure is fun sometimes...

So over the last weekend, we traveled to Penang island for my cousin's wedding at the Blue Mansion. The Circa 1880s mansion was built by the merchant Cheong Fatt Tze at the end of 19th century and has 38 rooms, 5 granite-paved courtyards, 7 staircases & 220 vernacular timber louvre windows. While it remains until now, a private-residence, the property operates as a 16 Room Bed & Breakfast-cum-museum as part of the adaptive reuse of an ongoing restoration project which has won awards from Unesco (source:wikipedia)

The dark and morbid weather complemented the deliciously eerie vibe and interior of the mansion and I was somehow unintentionally draped all in blue to match the old walls. Still, the blue on blue made for some rather interesting looking pictures I must say. And this old mansion housed a beautiful and memorable wedding party for us guests and most definitely the gorgeous bride and groom.

  Well well, it's been quite while since I last checked in here. As you can see I've been kept real busy by this little cookie here, isn't she just the sweeetest thing? I know all parents are biased about how cute their babies are, but just look at this lil cutie! She keeps stealing my heart day after day!

 And just to show that I'm alive and well, here are some pretty artsy fartsy (read: blurry cos I accidentally click the wrong camera settings) pics of me in a comfy getup (a geek tee which I love love love from Seamstheory and simple tailored shorts) moments before said lil cutie decided to decorate my tee with some milk spit up. 

By the way, aren't you guys excited that Christmas is coming (again!)?

My little angel, Megan is here! She arrived on the 23rd of October in the afternoon, all spunky and adorable, weighing about 6.5 pounds. It's been 2 weeks now, and I'm absolutely head over heels in love with her. She enchants us everyday with her facial expressions and she's been smiling at us since day 1 too. Of course, taking care of her is a lot of work too so I'll share more when I can ♥

Well, I'm still here guys, at 39 weeks with about 5 more days to my due date. This will probably be my last post before the baby comes, fingers crossed! I seriously hope the next time you guys see me, I will be holding my sweet babe in my arms.

And I wanted to share some of the pics my brother took of husband and I with our precious bump. We took these pics literally half an hour before it rained cats and dogs, we were so thrilled to see how lovely they turned out!

 I was literally over the moon when my asos package arrived with this whole ensemble, namely the dress, necklace and clutch that I wore them all out the same week! They just seem to fit altogether when I click on each item and send them to my shopping cart. With such a huge bump, it's strange that I can fit into this uk size 8 dress which ironically is not from the maternity section.

OMG people, my due date is end of next month! Next month!! Sometimes I still can't believe that I'm going to be a mother so so soon, my heart just aches for my lil one ♥

While Hollywood and the rest of the world was abuzz with the talk of the performances on this year’s MTV’s Video Music Awards, we were more interested in the outfits and accessories the stars were sporting, and more importantly, what earrings they were rocking. Most of the guests settled for a low-key approach with small diamond studs or no earrings at all. However, when the stars aren’t at an award show they fancy a much different look.

Here are some examples: Just a few weeks ago, during an event supporting the Acuvue Inspiration Award, ex-Disney star Demi Lovato was proudly showing off her diamond hoop earrings. The earrings she wore looked amazing, which isn’t really a surprise; diamonds go with everything. It’s safe to say that hoops - both plain and fancier styles - are definitely making a comeback. 

Back in June of this year, Catherine Zeta Jones was going about her day and was photographed in New York City wearing a pair of diamond set hoop earrings. 

Oh, and we can’t forget Halle Berry. The legendary starlet rocked her movie premiere in early 2013 with a form fitting pants suit and a pair of medium sized diamond hoop earrings.

Trends come and go in the fashion industry. There is never a shortage of new ideas and designs, but some things will never go out of style. Diamond hoop earrings have been around for decades and are a classic must-have in anyone’s jewelry box.

This spotted dress was so very comfy and accommodating to my 7 month-ish baby bump that I felt really good wearing it out. I can't wait to start baby shopping next weekend, I've so much on my list that it's getting a lil overwhelming! Wish me luck ♥
