Well folks, if you know me you will know that I like to experiment to push ideas a bit further when I find something that I like and I LOVE Easel cards -Karen got me hooked (thanks chuck).
I got myself some round scalloped nestabilities from Charmed Cards and Crafts the other day and you know what, they are perfect for making round easel cards. Take a look at what I came up with..
I did some very fiddly paper piecing here but I think it was worth it because it brings it all together.
Slightly fuzzy side view next:/ Here's another...
Do you like them? They're quite easy to make and to prove it I'm going to do you a video tutorial....just as soon as I buy the camera lol.
Papers used for these two cards;
Basic Grey 6x6 pads -'Max and Whiskers' and 'Marjolaine'
Digital images and papers are all from Charmed Cards and Crafts
Well I've decided to try selling some of my cards on ebay, so I'm off to list these now. If you are interested, here is the link
Helloooooooooooo is there anybody here? I bet all my blog fiends have forgotten this Blog...can you believe I haven't posted since September? Well I have moved house in that time so I guess that's a bit of a reason :)
Well I'm back now and soon you'll be sick of me.
Here's a card I made for Dottie'S World ....
I don't have a Valentine's card to show you because I haven't made one (shock horror) my partner and I agreed not to DO Valentines day....I'm just praying he isn't planning on surprising me (eek).
Anyway what I have been making is a thank you card for a very special little girl, I hope she likes it. Samirah loves the Pixie Chicks so I made her a nice tall easel card with one. I wanted to start experimenting a bit more with easel cards, I really like them and I think their boundries are waiting to be pushed...get ready for the circular easel card....and a video! Yikes I can't believe I just said that!
I'll be back!
Phew Blogger is really playing up tonight! Is anybody else having problems? I lost my post the first time and my last two challenge posts which I sceduled to appear when I was on holiday didn't work :(.
Speaking of my holiday.....I've been in Turkey for two weeks! WOO HOO! It was bloody amazing and I didnt want to come home. All I did most of the time was relax in the sun....after the stress of my marriage break up I really needed it I can tell you! However....I did do a bit of partying .....
I was behind the bar there helping them to mix the cocktails :)
Anyway.....on to the Dottie's World Challenge, our gorgeous Karen has set us a beauty this week, she wants us to get started on our Christmas cards.........yes I did say CHRISTMAS! The only specifications are that we try to go wit um-traditional colours AND use a Charmed download. Here's what I came up with.... I think these colours are a bit different from the 'norm' for Christmas but I think it works, don't you?
This is 'Dreamer' she's a Pixie Chick and you can download her from Charmed Cards and Crafts.
Fancy playing along? Please do, we need more people coming to play, pop over to Dottie's World.
Have a good week xxxxx
Ooooh I had such fun with this one! It's Karen's challenge this week at Dottie's World, here's what she said;
I used the bride from the Once Upon a Time digital download collection from Charmed Cards and Crafts. I dug out some sequins and glitter to frame her with and I'm really chuffed with the finished result.
The colouring could be better but these certificates are actually quite mini so colouring wasn't an easy task with my copics. It's the first time I've made a black George but I think it suits him!
The images (need I tell!) are from Charmed Cards and Crafts and the challenge is at Dottie's World, please drop by xx
The star of all these cards is George, he's a digital download from Charmed Cards and Crafts.
If you fancy playing along with this challenge please pop on over to Dottie's World
Good Morning everybody! Here we are it's Sunday again, time is going so fast for me, soon i will finish work for the summer yip yippidy doo!
It is my turn to set the challenge for this week at Dottie's World, here is what I said;
I would like you to use a CHARMED DOWNLOAD to make a summery card - or something else if you prefer! OK so that doesn't sound very challenging.......I would like you to make your summer item DIFFERENT to what you would normally make. Maybe you always make tent fold cards so try a side fold card or something completely different! Maybe you always make big cards so make a teenie weenie one, do you get my drift?
Most importantly, have fun!
Louise xx
Ok, so this is my challenge yes? So I shouldn't have any trouble remembering the main theme right? haha yeah right!
I got a bit carried away with the idea that I had to make something a bit different to my usual 'thing' and I completely forgot I was meant to make it summery! Arrrgh! Anyhow it's too late now so I've added one of my oldies for the summery twist (and its fits the 'different' criteria too) My children live half of the time with their dad and half of the time with me so they take it in turns using my spare room, not ideal I know but hey that's life. I made this door hanger for their room which is reversible so i just have to switch it depending on the day. I've used the prince and the princess images and sentiments from the new Charmed digi collection 'Once Upon a Time'
Here we have one of my oldies I thought it might help to inspire people to try something different and have some fun. This is also a Charmed digi image (drawn by yours truly)
If you fancy playing along with this challenge pop over to Dotties World - Oh and there is a prize up for grabs!
Hi Folks!
Look at the cheeky monkey with his love guns! Thank you to Adam for these fabulous drawings. xx
Pop over to Dottie's World and play along.
The only absolute rule for the DW challenges is to use a Charmed downloadable image (designed by me! ;)). Here I have used and image from the Sugar n Spice collection, click here to see all our digital downloads.
Here it is with the Boxalope that I made for it. I'm going to give this card to my friend Dawn, for no other reason than to tell her I love her and she is one of my dearest friends ever.
Have a lovely week everybody xxxx
Hello friends,
It's my turn to set the challenge at Dottie's World this week and I've asked people to make a project that has pockets. Here's what i came up with..... the little bag was made using a K&Co die cut sheet and I simply made a tag to go into the pocket. I added a band at the back to hold money or a voucher, I'm really pleased with the result.
Pop over to Dottie's World to see what the rest of the team came up with.
Hmmmm, see what I mean about the colours? Ah well never mind :)
The papers are from one of my BG pads and the image is one of my earliest digi drawings and it's from the Dottie at Work collection - available from Charmed Cards and Crafts.
Have a great week!
I tore my paper flowers from scraps of paper! Simple yet affective! I love this technique. The image - of course is one of our top sellers 'Dreamer' she's one of the Charmed Pixie Chick downloads.
