Top 10 Attractions in Hong Kong 23 Dec 2014 8:03 AM (10 years ago)

Hong Kong by far has some of the best attractions in the world. As a bustling metropolis, there is so much more to the area than tall buildings and museums. In fact, Hong Kong’s attractions are growing in popularity each year and some of these very attractions are what bring the majority of tourists to the area in the first place.

Avenue of the Stars
You do not have to go to Hollywood to encounter movie royalty. In fact, Hong Kong has their own movie industry that is just as loved and popular as America’s. The Avenue of Stars is a tribute to those actors that helped make Hong Kong’s movie industry what it is today, by giving each movie star their own spot on the sidewalk.

The plaques, milestones and celebrity handprints sprinkle the sidewalks and come up to the life-size statue of kung fu’s own Bruce Lee. The Avenue of Stars is glamorous and offers a breathtaking backdrop thanks to the Victoria Harbor. Live performances are going on throughout the year.

The Peak
If you are time bound or only have the patience for one attraction, make The Peak the ones you go to. This is the highest point on the island and is the city’s exclusive neighborhood. The rich and famous have found homes here and over the past few years it has become one of the most spectacular sights in Hong Kong.

The view is the main reason people come to The Peak. During the day, you can look out over the skyscrapers, harbor and even the green hills. At night, you see lights sparkling beneath you, melting into orange, pink and yellow.

For the best view, go to the Peak Tower and head out onto the Sky Terrace. There are numerous restaurants and shops that equally have amazing views, if you want to sit back, relax and check out Hong Kong below. To learn a little more about the attraction, take The Peak Tram, and slowly make the climb up the peak while learning about its history.

Ocean Park in Hong Kong
Originally opening its doors in 1977, Ocean Park offers a marine-themed park that offers thrill rides, live shows and animal exhibits. It was given the biannual Applause Award for offering world-class entertainment, attractions and even education in a single location. This is one of the most prestigious awards in the world and it was a big deal for Ocean Park when they received it in 2012.

The park is found on the southern side of the island, and offers over 870,000 square meters of fun. Within the park you’ll find world-famous attractions, including the Polar Adventure (letting you explore the North and South Poles); the Old Hong Kong (featuring memories of Hong Kong, history and more); Thrill Mountain (rollercoasters and rides only for the fearless); the Rainforest (featuring exotic sounds, tropical plants and more); Aqua City (a world-class marine area that gives you the full underwater experience); and Amazing Asian Animals (showing some of Asia’s most protected and amazing creatures).

Disneyland in Hong Kong
Experience the magic of Disneyland while in Hong Kong. With numerous attractions, rides and of course, Mickey Mouse and friends, you can enjoy this iconic theme park that has some exclusive attractions other Disneyland Parks don’t have.

Ladies’ Market
Get extreme bargains, souvenirs and accessories in over 100 stalls at the Ladies’ Market. Located on Tung Choi Street, you’ll find a 1-kilometer stretch of shopping featuring some of the biggest names in ladies’ fashion.

Temple Street Night Market
It is when the sun goes down that the best vendors in Hong Kong come out. Temple Street Night Market is a popular bazaar that features trinkets, tea, antiques, jade items, watches and more. Enjoy traditional Hong Kong cuisine from local food carts, pick out your next handbag or just shop the latest deals and bargains while enjoying music from local artists – all at night.

Hong Kong Convention Center
This landmark is an international convention and events center that you cannot miss. Take photographs, get a tour or catch an event happening while you are in town. The Convention Center is open daily except the first day of each month.

Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade
Featuring a Colonial-era Clock Tower and stretching along a large majority of the island, this famous promenade has become more popular than local museums, cultural centers and even the Avenue of Stars. Located along the Victoria Harbor, it is an exquisite shopping center, gathering place and even a great location to catch a bite.

Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple
Here you will find the home of three religions – Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. It’s an ornamental, beautiful temple that is not only a scenic attraction, but highly important to Hong Kong’s culture. The temple features five geomantic elements of Feng shui, including metal, wood, water, fire and earth.

The temple was meant to commemorate the notable monk, Wong Tai Sin, born in the 4th Century. The temple’s claim is to make every person’s wish come true upon request, and it is sure a site you will want to see while visiting Hong Kong.

The Clock Tower
Located in the Kowloon-Canton Railway terminal, you will find this 44-meter tall Clock Tower. Originally constructed in 1915, it is a spectacular site featuring granite, red brick and the styling of the Age of Steam. It is a memorable landmark in China and was officially declared a monument in 1990. It is also a symbol for millions of Chinese immigrants who passed through the infamous terminal to start their new lives in Hong Kong as well as other parts of the harbor.

U.S. Carriers Gradually Eliminating Bereavement Fares 16 Oct 2014 5:52 AM (10 years ago)

A death knell is supposedly sounding for airline bereavement fares now. The long-standing practice by most U.S. carriers has reached an abysmal low in 2014. Many airlines in the United States have done away with the practice or on the verge of putting an end to breaks for grieving fliers.

Media reports said that the bereavement fares have been eliminated by American Airlines in February this year. United Airlines was the next to follow suit and ended the practice of providing bereavement fares in March 2014. The airline has however shown some leniency and said that if the planned travel could not be undertaken by the passenger or a companion because of a serious illness or death then the tickets might just be refunded.

Airlines such as Frontier Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Virgin America, AirTran Airways and JetBlue Airways don’t offer bereavement fares in any case whatsoever. These airlines don’t see any reason in doing so as they often argue that they are already offering cheap airfares as they are low-cost carriers.

Delta Air Lines

Delta Air Lines is among the few airlines that continue to offer some kind of a bereavement discount, which though is relatively slight. Paul Skrbec, Spokesman of Delta Air Lines, said that the change fees are waived off by the airline when proof of death is furnished. The airline however grants the waiver only via phone.

Alaska Airlines is yet another airline offering a bereavement fare in the event of the death of an immediate family member. This must however be booked by phone only.

Bereavement fares earlier used to be of significant benefit to customers. It helped in lowering the price of last-minute airfare in a major way. A study said that the bereavement fares were rarely used by people, thus making it to be more of a legend than an important component of pricing.

Experts say that the demise of classic bereavement fares gradually seems to be true, but at the same time this also appears to be another belt-tightening measure for the cash-strapped airlines.

Business and Pleasure on the Gold Coast 7 Jun 2013 6:00 AM (11 years ago)

Australia's Gold Coast: The Gold Standard for Business Travelers and Pleasure-Seekers

If your next business trip will take you to Australia's sunny Gold Coast, you've hit the traveler's jackpot. Gold Coast is a seaside city in the state of Queensland. It's beautiful, bustling and bursting with exciting attractions, both natural and manmade.

For starters, Burleigh Head National Park is an oasis of volcanic cliffs along the ocean. The surfing conditions here are as spectacular as the views, and the fishing is first-rate as well. Nature lovers take notice: at Tumgun Lookout, you might glimpse groups of whales passing by. There's also a trail, a mile and a half long, through a dense rainforest brimming with rare and exotic creatures.

Near Burleigh Head is perhaps Gold Coast's biggest draw: Surfers Paradise. A paradise it certainly is – if you're a surfer, no matter your skill and experience level, you simply must tackle its enormous, pounding waves. Beachside, a multitude of eclectic bars, nightclubs and even Irish pubs keep the action going all night long. Bungee jumping and miniature golf facilities are also located nearby.

If it's a quieter, more soothing experience you're after during your business trip breaks, the luxurious spa enRich is just the place. A basic enRich package includes two and a half hours of pure pampering, including a full-body massage, a facial, a foot massage and snacks. By the way, enRich is worth the trip over for its location alone – it's situated amid a three-acre section of rainforest, on the shores of stunning Lake Terranora.

If you and your fellow business travelers want to see Gold Coast from a totally different perspective, head up to the SkyPoint Observation Deck atop the Q1 skyscraper. Nearly nine hundred feet above terra firma, you can relax at SkyPoint's café or bar. On the other hand, if you're especially daring, you might try the SkyPoint Climb. For an extra fee, you can spend an hour and a half traversing stairs, platforms and walkways all around the exterior of the building. In a way, the SkyPoint Climb is dizzying and scary. In another way, however – given the vistas of mountains, beaches, ocean waters and city streets surrounding you – it's a peaceful, even transcendent, experience.

Finally, if you bring your children along on your business trip, or if you're a child at heart, you might want to spend a half day or a full day at Warner Brothers Movie World, probably the most elaborate of Gold Coast's several theme parks. At Movie World, which opened in 1991, you can ride roller coasters, enjoy musical performances and stunt shows, and interact with actors portraying iconic movie stars like Marilyn Monroe.

This post was supplied by the guys at Skedaddle Car Hire, head to their Gold Coast page to score some good deals on car hires on the Gold Coast. You will also find plenty of info on things to do in and around the beautiful Gold Coast area

I attended the fourth edition of the Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival 2012, which was held for 4 days from November 1 to 4, at the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade, lying next to Hong Kong’s famous Victoria Harbor. The festival was sponsored by the Hong Kong Tourism Board. I was told that this festival was by far the biggest outdoor bonanza of wine, food and cultural events ever staged in Hong Kong. The festival was dedicated to celebrating Hong Kong’s culinary experience.

hong kong travel

The festival was prominently covered by the world media, which raised awareness of Hong Kong’s image as the Culinary Capital of Asia. It was simply great to see more than 310 wine and food stalls offering an extensive selection of wines from 18 countries, along with numerous delicacies. A “Sweet Pavillion”, specializing in the pairing of desserts and wine, and a “New Products Zone”, showcasing wines released in Hong Kong for the first time were the major highlights of the festival. A “Wine Culture Celebration” was also staged featuring Spanish and Italian wines, foods and cultural performances.

I simply loved participating in the festival. It was a completely enjoyable experience for me. The Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival is held every year and I will be looking forward to attend this next year as well.

Spectacular International Horse Show in Rome 30 Jan 2013 11:25 AM (12 years ago)

I am a sports buff and attending equestrian sports event held in different parts of the world has been my passion. This year I will be attending the International Horse Show at Piazza di Siena in Rome. I have purchased my flight tickets well in advance as I don’t want to miss out on this great event. Being an early booker, I have managed to get the best flight deals from my travel company Fare Buzz, through which I usually purchase my tickets, saved a good amount.

I have made US Airways flight reservations and would be taking US Airways flights to Rome from Philadelphia. I am told it would take about nine hours to reach Rome. I am waiting for that great day when I will travel to Rome to take part in this exciting event of its kind. The International Horse Show will be held at Piazza di Siena in Rome from May 23 to 26, 2013.

Even after 80 years Rome’s International Horse Show still continues to be one of the exciting and most important events of its kind in the field of equestrian sports. A large number of visitors from Italy and foreign countries descend on the historic city of Rome to participate in this amazing event. International competitors from across the world come to Rome to compete in the prestigious show jumping Grand Prix at this spectacular horse show.

This horse show sounds quite fascinating to me and I am waiting with bated breath to reach the superb grounds and see the setting of the Villa Borghese where the grand event is to be hosted. Villa Borghese is well known for its horse riding history.

The event includes the most significant Grand Prix and the hugely popular Puissance, where horse and rider combinations would be required to jump the formidable wall. The competition in the past has reached the 2.20 meter mark. It would be simply a great sight to see the event culminating with a spectacular display of horsemanship, with visitors having earlier witnesses over 100 mounted Carabinieri displaying their skills of precision riding within the arena and finishing with a daring charge.

Savoring street-food in Shanghai! 25 Jan 2013 12:11 PM (12 years ago)

Shanghai, China’s business district is the most sought after destination for globetrotters. I had also dreamt of visiting this lively, thriving place sometime in future. I was finally seeing my dreams come true as I had been able to spare some time and visit the second biggest city and a major financial hub of China. I contacted a well-known travel company Fare Buzz to buy airline tickets at best fares. I was fortunate to get cheap tickets deals as the promotional offer had been launched and finally booked Air China flights to Shanghai.
I was now in the exciting city of Shanghai, which is also known as Asian Paris. The city is greatly frequented by tourists from world over. I had heard that visitors here shouldn't miss out on the traditional street-food. So, my priority was obviously to savor on street delicacies. This was, in fact, the important highlight about my visit to Shanghai.

It was exciting to see the traditional street food being sold from the back doors of people living in the 1930s-built Jing’an Villas neighborhood, just minutes from the hi-tech business district of modern Shanghai. Jing'an Villas (at 1025 Nanjing Xi Lu) was built in 1932 and comprises of 183 subdivided three-story units. The area’s architecture was partly modeled on European-style terraced housing and also had Chinese concepts of common space, resulting in a unique hybrid style of houses found only in Shanghai incorporated.

Think of visiting stall #107 here for a bowl of midday noodles. A small army of ayis, or "aunties" are ready to greet you and ready to serve bowl after bowl of noodles. Do remember to come early for the soup wantons. If you come at lunch a bowl of scallion oil noodles are likely to be offered. To get a great taste, ask the ayis to have your noodles topped off with a veggie "chicken" filet made from tofu, a stewed, hard-boiled egg, or a fried pork chop (zhupái).
Checking out stall #15 near the entrance at Nanjing Xi Lu would just be great for a taste of classics. Here you’ll have to write down your order yourself. This was really exciting for me as I got a crash course in writing by copying Chinese characters from the red display menu. The Shanghai classics – everything from pork wontons to fried rice, fried noodles and sliced stir-fried glutinous rice with greens (chao niángao) – are displayed on the menu. You just need to order your favorite.

Stop by stall #128 or Denny House, named after its owner Denny Wong, for the perfect cup of Hong Kong-style milk tea. It’s great favorites with Shanghai residents. There’s lot more to explore here. I would again be visiting this beautiful city to spend more time here. A visit to Shanghai is strongly recommended.

Cancun - A popular spring break travel destination 23 Jan 2013 11:54 AM (12 years ago)

Cancun is a great Caribbean destination attracting tourists from all over the world. This coastal city, situated on the Yucatan Peninsula in the state of Quintana Roo in Mexico, is famous for its white sand beaches and crystal blue water. Cancun offers sun, sand and nightclubs – all that a Caribbean paradise would. This beautiful place – with its clear waters, beautiful beaches, great weather, and nearby coral reef – receives over 3 million tourists every year.
Famous world over as a popular spring break travel destination, the very thought of visiting Cancun is alluring. I could not hold myself at these thoughts and decided to get hold of cheap flights deal at the earliest. Without losing any further time, I spared few hours to conduct a search on the Internet and see whether I succeed in getting low fares. I fortunately landed on a website of a well-known travel company Fare Buzz and got great flight deals. I booked Spirit Airlines flights from Atlanta to Cancun.

After booking my airline tickets, I started preparations for my trip. In fact, I was traveling to Cancun for the first time. I booked the tickets so that I could fly in the springtime as it is simply a great fun to visit during this time of the year. However, there’s a caution. Though Cancun is a popular spring break travel destination, the weather patterns here during springtime are unpredictable. The weather can be humid and hot.
Sometimes, it rains as well. For those traveling for the first time, it is important to get updates on rainy seasons or other weather-related issues prior to your journey.

Previously, Cancun was a long strip of forest flanked by beaches. The Mexican government, however, decided to develop Cancun as a tourist destination in the 1970s because of its great weather, clear waters, beautiful beaches, and nearby coral reef. The city has now become the biggest resort area in Mexico. The paradise setting of Cancun also makes it a popular wedding and honeymoon destination.
My visit to Cancun was indeed thrilling. I explored the archaeological ruins from the pre-Columbian Mayan civilization. It was quite fascinating to visit the underwater art museum in the National Marine Park. There are 400 life-sized sculptures in clear shallow waters creating artificial reefs for marine life in the museum. The snorkelers, scuba divers and tourists riding in glass-bottomed boats get an opportunity to see the marine life interacting with the art sculptures. Other favorite pastime with the tourists here includes swimming with dolphins, going on guided Cancun jungle tours, and fishing during a boat tour in the Caribbean Sea. I simply enjoyed every bit during my stay in Cancun. I would love to visit this fantastic place again sometime in future.

The Japanese tour 14 Jan 2013 12:04 PM (12 years ago)

Japan had to fight with the destiny to become one of the richest nations in the world. Various natural calamities and the World War II have taken its toll and the Japanese have overcome all such adversaries with their determination and hard work. Today, Tokyo, the capital of Japan is considered as one among the three financial commanding centers along with New York and London. Hence, no corporate houses can avoid doing business in Tokyo in the prevailing situation. Globalization has changed the fate of Tokyo. Now entire world is filled with Japanese products and the city has been approved as the electronic capital as many electronic products from Tokyo have captured the world market. Even my trip to Tokyo was in connection with some business proposals.
Since it was my own business organization and the expenditures have to be met with myself, I have collected the information about the airfares and decided to go with the best airfares. Tokyo has a prominent place in the map of international business and hence receives a large number of visitors every day. All major airlines such as Korean Air, Philippines Airlines etc are plying daily flights to Tokyo. Besides, there are some minor players who offer cheap tickets to Tokyo too. After a long search I have decided for one such airline and finally flew in one of the cheap flights to Tokyo.

As I do not have to report to anybody about my tour progress or I do not have to update my superiors, I had the freedom to decide my daily schedule. Still I want to give more concentration on my business as it is my livelihood. Still I got a lot of time in between to enjoy the city life. The city has a mixture of east and west. It reflects in their dressings, food habits and also in the way they behave. The identical Japanese culture has almost disappeared from the city and it comes out as a perfect blend of eastern and western cultures. This feature adds more beauty to the life over there.
Izu Islands is the first place which I visited. This is a volcanic island and a part of Fuji-Hikone-Izu national park. There are several other national parks in Tokyo and some are designated as heritage sites by UNESCO. Ueno Park is famous for the museums situated there. The National Museum of Natural Sciences and Tokyo National Museum etc are showcasing the history and the cultural heritage of the region. The city houses many Sumo Wrestling Arenas too. Sumo is something which the Japanese cannot live without. I was lucky to witness some Sumo competitions too. However, I do not feel that I have seen the city completely. Now I am planning to visit the city once again along with my family.

Budapest - A city steeped in rich culture and history 17 Dec 2012 11:23 AM (12 years ago)

As part of my job, I have to travel to various destinations periodically. In this way, I have visited some of the most unique destinations that were earlier unheard of. These beautiful places brought me close to the nature and I also came to know about the history and culture of these places. This has really expanded my horizons like anything. This is the reason; I am forever ready to visit a relatively lesser known place. This time, I was asked to visit Budapest, the capital city of Hungary. I had heard about Budapest earlier also because of its political upheavals. I was happy to receive this opportunity so that I can know more about this destination. Soon, I started looking for best airline deals as my pocket would not allow me more than cheap plane tickets. Since several flights to Budapest like Air France are available these days, I did not face any trouble in finalizing cheap tickets.

As soon as I reached this wonderful destination that is known for its rich history and culture, I was amazed to see its nascent beauty. Besides known for political turmoil, the city is also known to be a prominent industrial and commercial hub of Europe. I had booked city tour well in advance to gain more knowledge about this place. As soon as my job was over, I embarked on my tour to see the city at close quarters. Our tour guide was quite knowledgeable and beside prominent attractions of the city, he also told us about the way of living, culture, history and many other aspects of this destination that helped us to understand the place in a better way.

Our first stop was at the Royal Palace where we came across some unique style of architecture. Several art galleries and museums are also housed in this palace. We also visited St Stephan’s Basilica that is another place known for its remarkable architecture. The style of architecture used here is representative of Italian Renaissance period. Next on our list was the House of Parliament that is considered to be one of the most beautiful buildings in Europe. Constructed in a neo-Gothic style, the statues of some of the most noteworthy monarchs can be witnessed here. Since the destination boasts of such a huge variety of attractions, the number of tourists coming here is also increasing at a gradual pace. Moreover, several cheap flights to Budapest are available these days, so booking cheap tickets to Budapest is not a challenging task.

Next day, we visited the Fisherman’s Bastion, the white cloisters of which glistens from a distance. A breathtaking view of the city can be admired from the turrets of this building where one can reach through the stairs. My visit was truly remarkable and I vowed to revisit this place again.

The City beautiful 4 Dec 2012 11:45 AM (12 years ago)

Orlando, the city in the Florida state of United States of America is also known as the city beautiful. True to this name the city serves a feast to the eyes of the beholder with her beautiful landscapes. However, nature is not the only one which contributes the tourism here. The city is more known as the base for the world famous theme park Disney World.
When the company asked me to go there to solve some of the issues in connection with our business, I took it as a blessing in disguise. I have a great desire to visit the Disney world as it has contributed a lot to my childhood fantasies. I tried my level best to get cheap flight deals and finally booked a ticket in one of the cheap flights to Orlando. Being one of the most visited cities in the world, all major airlines are operating flights to Orlando like Air France. Besides, there are a number of domestic flights too from other parts of US.

I was busy on the first two three days of my visit with my hectic schedule. I could not see any places in the city. Entire morning hours I had to spend on marathon meetings and discussions and the evenings for dinner with my clients. From the fourth day onwards I got relieved a bit and found time to visit the city.

Quite naturally, my first choice was Walt Disney’s Park. I have recollected all those of my childhood fantasies. It is quite funny to think about it now. However on that age I was very much serious on those fantasies. The fantasy park receives large numbers of visitors everyday and it has enough infrastructure facilities to accommodate that large crowd. With the introduction of cheap tickets to Orlando, the number of visitors has increased too.
However, it is not the only attraction here. There are many beautiful lakes such as Lake Lucama, Lake Fola etc are there to enjoy the boating. The beautiful fountain in the Lake Eola is the official emblem of the city. You can see a large crowd in the garden around these lakes. The fresh air and the cool breeze tempt people to stay over here for long time. Apart from the Walt Disney, there are many other resorts and theme parks too. It has the reputation of a city that mostly featured in films and television serials. It houses many film studios too.

Though it was for a short period, the trip to Orlando was an unforgettable experience for me. First of all I could realize some of my childhood fantasies. Secondly, the hospitality and the mouth watering delicious cuisines served in the hotels here will certainly allure you to visit the city again and again. Even I am planning to visit this city once again along with my family.

Visiting America's Cleanest and richest city 3 Dec 2012 11:11 AM (12 years ago)

Miami has been declared as the cleanest city of America by Forbes magazine and also considered the richest city in terms of purchasing power. However, that was not the reason for me to select it as my holiday destination. Quite naturally, the long sandy beaches were the main attraction for me. Once, the destination has been fixed, the next step was to collect cheap flights tickets to Miami. Being one of the most visited cities in the world, almost all major airlines are operating flights to Miami. With a large number of cheap airline flights and availability of cheap tickets, the journey to Miami is not so costly. Even the cost of living is also very less when compared with many other developed cities in the world.

I reached there in one of the cheap flights to Miami on time and I never forget that I could enjoy each and every moment spent there right from the time I have landed in the airport. As told earlier, almost all major airlines are operating flights to Miami like American Airlines. Hence the airport is always busy. However, there was no delay in completing the formalities and hence there is no trouble for the passengers.

Miami beaches are world famous but the city has many other attractions to offer to a visitor. There are several parks which also functions as recreation centers. I could see many children and elders spending their evenings in such parks engaged in different types of recreational activities. During my short stay, I used to spend most of the evenings in any one of the parks.

The city houses many venues for performing arts. The love for art is clearly visible in the locals. The newest among the venues for performing arts in the city, Adrienne Arsht Center for Performing Arts is the second largest one in United States of America. It houses the famous Florida Grand Opera too. As the love for art, the eagerness of the locals to preserve their culture and heritage is clearly visible at many museums. The most important ones among them are History Museum Miami, Miami Art museum and Miami Children’s Museum. I have spent a lot of time in those museums.

The food of Miami also has diversity. You will get Caribbean Cuisines as well as Latin American and American ones. The visitors are from different parts of the world and hence most of the hotels are serving different varieties of food. The tourists coming in cruise vessels are visiting this city in large numbers. Miami port is the largest cruise port in the vessel. Along with tourism, Miami is a thriving business center too. Many major corporate houses have a strong presence here and it has a strong presence in international trade too. That is why I could turn this personal tour to a business one too.

Though, there are several attractions here, you cannot enjoy the life in Miami without spending at least one evening in any of the beaches. The beaches where the atmosphere is filled with bands and music will certainly pour a lot of energy into you.

A place of glory and grandeur 30 Nov 2012 8:44 AM (12 years ago)

I was very excited when I heard about a college and who wouldn’t be, a college trip sounds so nice and filled with fun that it was something that I never really wanted to miss at all. This excitement was not limited to me, there truth is that everybody in my college and class was excited about it and we were all looking forward to it. Our college had planned a trip before but it had not really worked out and that had disappointed all of us a lot. So this trip was very important for us and we were all looking forward to it. We were told that the destination they had chosen for us was Manila and we were happy with the place they had decided.

Since it was a college trip and the number of students was so many we were able to find a good package for the hotel we were staying in and when we stayed there, it was pretty nice. The services were all very nice and the place was very well kept. It was the job of our college administration people to book tickets and we were told that they did not have to struggle a lot to find cheap flight tickets for us.

Since history is one of our subjects the first place we were taken to in this tour was the Manila American Cemetery and memorial. The place is a tribute to those American soldiers who died in the World War II and is a reminder of their contribution and sacrifice to keep the country safe. Several flights to Manila are available and we booked our tickets on Philippine Airlines.

Our next trip was to Santiago Palace, the palace has been standing tall since the 17th century. It is a fort that has been made of stone and is truly remarkable, its beautiful location adds to its charm and glory.

We were very happy that we had found cheap tickets to this place and it was because of the hassle free ticket booking that our college authorities were also very happy and relieved.

A great place that we went to is the San Agustin Church; this place is very significant both historically and religiously. This is a very old church and is beautiful with remarkable architecture and grace. What makes it even more interesting is the fact that this church has survived seven earthquakes, not just that it has also survived two fires.

Our college was lucky to have been able to book cheap flights to Manila for us; otherwise we would not have been able to see so many wonderful things. You can also see them, just book cheap tickets to manila and enjoy yourself and see some really amazing places.

A Vacation in Grand Cayman Islands 29 Nov 2012 8:20 AM (12 years ago)

The Grand Cayman Islands is an out of the ordinary place for a holiday. I got a chance to visit this place for a vacation with my friends last year. We all had a great time in this astonishing place. It was one holiday that I can never forget. The city had me enthralled with its beauty. A vacation here is a must for all at least once.

The first thing to do before going on a vacation is finding cheap plane tickets and cheap domestic flights that suit your budget. There are many flights to Grand Cayman Islands and if you do enough of study on the internet then you could find cheap flights to Grand Cayman Islands. I got in touch with our travel agent who managed to get us a very good deal on cheap tickets to Grand Cayman Islands like Air Canada.

Grand Cayman islands are one of the most beautiful places that I have ever visited for a vacation. We visited several beaches that are located close by and had a great time. The vast blue ocean and the sandy shores had me feeling very invigorated. We all tried our hand at the different water sports. I learnt how to do scuba diving. It was an amazing experience. Looking at all the sea creatures was beautiful. We visited the famous Cayman Ridge which has the famous sea turtles living. The entire place has a very calm feel to it. Next on the list was the Seven Mile Beach, it is a gorgeous beach. We spent an evening here. The city has a great variety of sea food.
If you happen to be a foodie like me then this is the place to visit for sure. We also visited Cayman Brac and Little Cayman as well. The town is a great place for people who love adventure and nature. There are a lot of things to do. So we never got bored for a second also. We spent our day lazing around on the beach. Having our favorite drinks and watching the crowds go by. Girls being girls we had to shop from here as well. There are local markets that we visited and bought loads of handicrafts. The people here seemed to be very warm and kind. They made us try out some of their local cuisine as well. The best way to know any place is to infuse in its local essence and that is exactly what we all did.

Soon a week was over and it was time to go back home. Time went by so fast. All good things must come to an end and so did our vacation. I hope I get a chance to visit this gorgeous place soon.

A wonderful time in Seattle 27 Nov 2012 11:58 AM (12 years ago)

Seattle is a great place to visit for a holiday. There are many flights to Seattle like US Airways that have low airline prices. Avoid book during the holiday season as you not get cheap flights to Seattle. I managed to get in touch with a travel agent who helped us to get cheap tickets to Seattle. There are several flights to San Diego that run on a daily basis from various airports. I had always wanted to visit this place for a holiday. This place is ideal for a vacation for all those who like being closer to nature must visit this place.

To enjoy a laid back and chilled vacation away from the noise of the city this place is an ideal holiday destination. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the city and helps you relax and unwind yourself. After a vacation here you are completely recharged and energized ready to back to your busy lives. The place has a lot of activities to offer to all age groups so do not worry your little ones will be able to have a great time on their own.

Calm and quiet is what describes the atmosphere of this place. There are many museums and art galleries that you could visit and have a great time. The city has a great night life as well. The best time to visit this place is during the summer time. I had the chance to visit this spectacular place for a vacation last year. The place is beautiful I must say. There is so much that you could do here. Take a walk around the market place and see the hustle and bustle of the town. The options to choose from in this awesome city are endless.

The night life here is simply amazing. There are chic lounges to visit. For the sophisticated ones there are great fine dine restaurants that have amazing food. I visited quite a few of the lounges here with my colleges after work. We all had delicious food and heard great music. I visited a few malls here as well for shopping. I was amazed with the variety of brands this place has. Words are less to describe the beauty of his work.

My trip to Seattle was very short I wish I had more time to discover the city. It is a city that does not fail to surprise you at all. I clicked a lot of photographs to keep as memories of the wonderful time that I had with my friends and family. It was a great holiday that I had in a long time. Given a chance I would love to return to this city soon.

My dream trip to Santo Domingo! 26 Nov 2012 8:43 AM (12 years ago)

I had been excited to start going to college and I am pretty sure that I am not the only one who has this excitement, after all everybody who has plans of studying further and going to college will certainly be excited. I remember ever since I was a kid, I had seen so many movies and thy showed so many people going together for college trips and this idea fascinated me so much. It was always something I wanted to do and certainly wanted to have the chance to do it. I remember the day I heard that our college was taking us for a trip was the happiest day of my life, I know it may seem like exaggeration but the truth is that I had dreamt of this day for so long that I really got very excited and was so eager to do it. I heard that the place our college was taking us to was the beautiful Santo Domingo.

It is one thing to be excited about something and another to have that excitement fulfilled. I was so glad that my college had chosen such a wonderful place and that my dream of such a long time did not get spoiled. Our college people had looked for tickets and they told us that they were able to find cheap plane fares. They did not have to spend much time in doing so either; this had made this trip a lot easier to plan.

Park of three eyes of water is a beautiful place where one can find three interconnected caves and this is a beautiful site to see. One gets to see beautiful water and absolutely marvelous caves. In fact not just one cave, it is three beautiful caves together and one gets to see all of them. To check for a nice ticket airline seems to be difficult find but finding good tickets to this place is not difficult at all.

I also went to the beautiful national botanical garden, the garden is a place where I found myself really close to nature and this garden is also the home to some beautiful birds, which are a great sight to watch. Flights to Santo Domingo like Air Canada are so easy to find that our college people had to waste no time in booking tickets and it was a very convenient thing to do.
