Friday’s fun in the Online Card Class, Sparkle and Shine, was about paste and mousse with shimmer. The Nuvo mousse has been hitting the crafting community big with the beautiful colors and shimmer. I haven’t worked with it yet, so this was a great time to try it out. I used 2 different colors while using a baby wipe to apply it. I love the swirly watercolor effect!
Stamps: Paper Smooches Free Spirits
Mousse: Tonic Nuvo
To continue practicing the awesome tips brought in the Online Card Class, Sparkle and Shine, today is shimmer day! I mixed Jennifer and Debby’s tips into one – using an adhesive as the backer to a Tim Holtz stencil to hold Perfect Pearls. I love the effect and can see mass producing cards this way! I finished it off with some ribbon and a saying.
Stencil: Tim Holtz
Perfect Pearls (shimmer): Ranger
Stamp & Die: The Cat’s Pajamas
Day 3 of the Online Card Class, Sparkle and Shine, was full of liquid applications for sparkle and shimmer. I worked with the Nuvo crystal drops and Wink of Stella shimmer pens that you can pick up just about anywhere. The dots of color and clear are the Nuvo drops. The shimmer on the ombre panel is from a bath of Wink of Stella clear. I love how the shimmer enhances the color while blending it a tiny bit. It looks great in the afternoon sun!

Tonic: Nuvo crystal drops
I had to try the day 1 lesson again from Online Card Classes, Sparkle and Shine. The die cut at the top of the card was perfect for this technique! I added double-sided adhesive to the background of the die cut so that it would be glittery. Love how it turned out!
Stamps & Die: The Cats Pajamas
Glitter: PK Glitz
So for the 2nd day of the Online Card Class, Sparkle and Shine, the subject was foil. I used a foil that I had in my stash for quite some time over double-sided adhesive. It worked great! I found that dusting with powder helped the edges stop feeling sticky from where the foil couldn’t reach.
Die: Sizzix Friends Background
Embellishments & Adhesive Sheet: The Stamps of Life
Foil: Creative Imagination
The classes from Online Card Classes are always wonderful for everything – content, samples and videos. The newest class, Sparkle and Shine, has a bunch of great ideas already, Day 1! Here’s my sample of an inlaid glittered diecut – just enough sparkle and shine. #OCCSparkleandShine

I’m taking the cool class “Heat Wave” from Online Card Classes. I love heat embossing so this is a great way to relax and have some fun with the card supplies that I have. The stamps are from SimonSaysStamp using Jenn’s idea for embossed acetate on a shaker card. I must admit that it took me a couple tries to get it together, but the result turned out well. I’ll be giving this to a friend for her birthday coming up next month!
This week’s challenge at The Cat’s Pajamas was a photo one, showing lots of flowers and colors of white, coral and mint green. My inspiration came in the form of an ATC using the Patterned Petals set to stamp then adding some small Prima flowers and white acrylic paint from Ranger. It was fun and I can use what I learned this time to make my next acrylic project even better!
This card came together SO quickly using everything from the January Card Kit from The Stamps of Life, even the die! The balloons are super cute embellishments included in the kit as well as the nice thick cardstock patterned paper. Even the base cardstock is included. Thanks Stephanie for a great kit in January!
I was on a go with the April card kit from The Stamps of Life. Thanks to Chris for convincing me that I needed it
The 2 pink cards and last card used a Tim Holtz Stencil for the simple background. The birdcage card used the Stamp Club images from April which are super cute!
