Feb 2014 Week 4 (24th Feb - 2nd March)
Assalamualaikum and good day u ols.
Sorry for lack of updates. Been busy lately :D.
Anyway, i would like to update on our homeschool activity. I have stopped the proper activity for quite some time. Blame me! Few weeks before i continued the letter Ee, i did repeat the previous letters to see my son's progress. So far, he already knew the letters. Alhamdulillah :)
Note again: This is a very long post!
Letter of the Week = Ee
Object of the Week = Egg
Vocabulary Development Theme of the Week = Pets

Bought the eggs online :)
As usual, doing worksheets from
1+1+1=1 for letter Ee.
He scribbled and doodled as usual. But now better. He could trace the line properly!
This time, i did not prepare any Tot Trays properly. But we did Tot Trays activities by the way. This Eggs has shapes inside! Very interesting!
Then, we did shape sorting using the blocks and shape sheet.
We did wooden alphabet activity. This is awesome! My son was soooo into this activity everyday!
This wooden numbers as well. He loves this soooo much!
Every night, we will do Baby Qhaleefah reading via laptop. Alhamdulillah he loves reading too. We did phonics as well using Fridge Words from Leap Frog. But still he was not focusing on the phonics.
I will try to continue doing activities with my son.

Salam and Good Day to all :D
I received this article from BabyCenter. So, i decided to share with all of you since this issue is very serious issue.
What is dengue?
Dengue (or denggi) is one of the most common mosquito-borne diseases in Malaysia. It is so common that the Health Ministry maintains a current dengue report on its homepage, updated weekly.
Dengue causes a high fever and a rash. Most people with dengue will be ill for about 10 days and, with the right treatment, will then recover.
How does dengue spread?
The female tiger mosquito spreads the dengue virus. Unlike most mosquitoes, dengue-causing mosquitoes bite during the day.
These mosquitoes breed in warm, humid weather and in stagnant water. This is why the number of dengue cases increases during the monsoon season.
What are the symptoms of dengue fever?
Dengue in infants and toddlers usually starts with the symptoms of a viral illness:
high fever or temperature;
runny nose;
cough;
a mild skin rash.
Older children may have:
a high fever;
pain behind the eyes and in the joints;
backaches and headaches.
They may also develop a red and white patchy skin rash. This may be followed by:
loss of appetite;
nausea;
vomiting;
itchiness on the soles of the feet.
Most people with dengue feel very weak. This can last for some time after the illness.
What do I do if I think my child has dengue fever?
If your child has a fever and skin rashes or aching joints, contact your doctor immediately. As the symptoms of dengue and chikungunya are similar, your doctor may ask for a blood test to confirm the diagnosis.
There is no specific cure for dengue, but there is treatment for the symptoms. Your doctor may prescribe paracetamol for the fever. Don't give your child any anti-inflammatories - they could affect your child's blood platelets.
You can:
make sure your child gets plenty of rest;
give him light and nourishing food;
put a wet cloth on his forehead every so often to help keep the fever down.
Dengue may last up to 10 days, but some people may continue feeling tired for up to a month.
How can I reduce the chances of my child picking up dengue?
There is no vaccine against dengue. The best way to protect your child is to get rid of the mosquitoes that spread the virus. Mosquitoes breed in stagnant water. Make sure your house and the surrounding area is free of stagnant water, rotting vegetation and old flowerpots, especially in the monsoon season.
You could also:
dress your child in long-sleeved clothes and long pants to minimise skin exposure;
dress your child wear light-coloured clothes (dark colours attract mosquitoes);
use citronella oil-based creams and sprays or other herbal mosquito repellents;
use mosquito nets while sleeping;
install mosquito meshes on windows;
air conditioning also helps keep mosquitoes at bay.
Even if your child has had an attack of dengue, it does not give him immunity against the other three closely-related, but distinct dengue viruses. Untreated dengue can develop into dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF) which can cause bleeding, liver failure, convulsions and even death. Also, dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF) usually develops in people who have already had dengue. So, prevention is very important.

Assalamualaikum and Good Day to all...
Sorry again for lack of updates. Ok i almost forgot the whole story of our Umrah. :D
Alhamdulillah we've been given a chance to perform Umrah end of 2013 which was the best memory to close the year ever. Terlalu banyak dugaan dan rintangan untuk ke Umrah ni sebenarnya. Tapi Alhamdulillah dengan izin Allah, kami berjaya menunaikan ibadah ini.
We went on 19th Dec 2013 by Saudi Air. We went to Makkah first means we had to directly perform Umrah. Thus, we needed to be in Ihram in the plane. By the way, enjoy the pics ya. I won't story in details since this is our ibadah :).
at KLIA
in the plane for 10 hours including transit in Riyadh
We arrived Makkah at midnite. We put our luggages and continue for Umrah ibadah. Alhamdulillah we settled around 2.30am and not so many people at that time. Alhamdulillah for the smooth journey. Then, we went back to hotel for some rest. Then went back to masjid for Subuh prayer.
We stayed in Makkah for 6 days. We stayed in Safwah Hotel. These are Masjidil Haram surrounding. Lotsa people are coming in. By 26/12, more pilgrimages were here because Arabs from other countries were on public holidays.
King Abdul Aziz Entrance, Kaabah, Zam Zam Tower, Clock Tower
We had other visits around Makkah. We went to Gua Tsur, Jabal Rahmah, Arafah and Jabal Nur (Gua Hira'). This is for one visit. The next day we went or another visit to the Kaabah Museum and Camel area. Then, we continued for another Umrah prayer.
Arafah, Jabal Rahmah, Gua Tsur

Assalamualaikum and Hi to all of u...
Sorry for thousand times for being hiatus again and again. After our Umrah, i was so super extra lazy to update the blog. Even my son's homeschooling activities also i have not started back yet. There are other activities la but not really focus on reading and writing. More to his fine motor skills. Reading yes but very relaxing and enjoyable not so serious.
Anyway, i'll start updating slowly from our Umrah story (maybe a short story) and other stories as well like my son's birthday.
Thank you for reading and supporting my blog by the way. Just a story of our lil family and homeschooling activities and maybe more stories as well.
Ok la...enjoice!!!!

Salam dari Makkah,
Almond Milk
19 Dec 2013 8:30 PM (11 years ago)
Assalamualaikum and Good Day uols.
Actually, we ols dah ada kat KLIA ni waiting for our flight 3pm nanti. Doakan kami selamat menunaikan ibadah umrah diberkati Allah, selamat pegi and selamat pulang yer.
Last week, i tried making Almond milk for Ayser. Yela kan, i had to consume ubat tahan period for my umrah. The effect is my breastmilk production will decrease tremendously. So, risau la jugakkan. My dad suggested bawak soy milk powder which i dont agree to give to him. Instead, i made Almond Milk for him. Kene la bagi test minum ikut 4 day rule tu nk make sure there is no allergy la kan.
So far, Alhamdulillah no allergy. Hopefully, ada la jual Almond Milk kat sana. Although xde homemade yang fresh milk pon jadi la for emergency je ni. InsyaAllah my production is still enough for him. Ameen.

By the way, i used my Kuvings Silent Juicer je nk buat Almond Milk ni. Kire senang la jugak kan keje sebab half of the hampas2 tu dh di asingkan. Tinggal yang halus2 je la. U ols bole gune blender je blend everything and tapis. Tapis gune cheese cloth tu or gune tapis kain putih teh tu je senang.
This is how to make homemade Almond Milk. I tambah kismis and madu. Bole je nak tambah bahan2 lain yang berkhasiat.
Ok, Happy Trying!
The Big Bad Wolf!
19 Dec 2013 2:00 PM (11 years ago)
Last Saturday, we ols pegi the Big Bad Wolf Book Fair. It was a last minute planned actually. My sis pon nak ikut gak sebab dia nk pegi wedding her fren. So, we dropped her at Nilai area first then we went directly to MIECC. The traffic was really bad plus raining made it worst!
Before pegi the BBW, we went to The Mines for lunch and some shopping at Uniqlo. Seriously, so many people there sampai lunch pon kene queue up. Memang menduga kesabaran la kan.
While waiting for our food, duofie la apa lagi kan. This lil boy ni penat acah dia kata dh x amek dah baru dia nak pandang and senyum. If not, dia pandang tempat lain and buat2 macho. Gerammmm!!!
After lunch and shopping, zasss to the BBW. Memang la ramai orang kan. Sampai we ols angkat stroller naik tangga la. Nak tunggu lif memang berzaman je la kan. Sempat je snap picture kat entrance BBW ni while waiting for daddy.
Nothing much la. Byk buku yang sama kt most of the tables there. We did not our books. Beli buku Ayser je la. Habis beratus gak la kan untuk dia sorang. Nk kene spend time lama nk belek2 cari2 buku. Memang x la kan. Ayser dah x bole duduk diam dalam stroller nak keluar. Orang ramai memang le the very tak bole la kan nk lepaskan dia.
By 5.30pm, we ols terus cabut la x sanggup dah nk meredah lautan manusia. Dengan nak mengadap traffic jam lagi kan. Terus ke Nilai nak fetch my sis back. Then, terus balik Melaka.
So, these are the books that we managed to buy for Ayser. Pakai grab aje la kan. Nk tengok betol2 satu2 no time. Hopefully, he will read all the books la kan. :)
We check out from hotel very early around 6.30am after had breakfast to go to Jakarta. We had a special invitation from Indonesia Ministry of Education for early lunch. That's why we needed to go early plus to avoid the traffic jam.
Alhamdulillah the journey went well. There was no traffic jam. Thus, we reached at the restaurant early. Around 9.30am! How to lunch if like that and they have not prepared the food yet.
We had the invitation at Restaurant Pulau Dua. The place was very nice! Something different. I think sure this is the expensive restaurant. FYI, our lunch is sponsored by Indonesian Government. :D
Thru the area for eating, there was a bridge and a fish pond. The place was warm and cozy! I did not take so many pictures. So sad! But we managed snap some photos at the bridge and the pond.
See Ayser with his sunglasses! He said hot! And he wanted to wear the sunglasses. Haha. Funny.
We were entertained by their performers while waiting for the food. Then, the food arrived. Buffet style. Very delicious. Something different from our normal meal throughout the trip.
After lunch, we went to Tambrin City for our last minute shopping before departure. But, we did not shop by the way. No mood for shopping anymore. Hehe.
Then, we went straight to airport for checking-in. It took quite some time actually the process that's why we needed to be early.
After settled, we went for solat and waited at the waiting area because the flight delayed.
While waiting, snapped pictures. These kids were really happy when taking pictures. Ayser joined them and still maintained the machoness. Haha. He would not look at me. Grrrr.
Around 6.45, we boarded and departed. We arrived around 9.30pm Malaysia time and took a bus back to Melaka. We reached Melaka around 2.30am. Ouhhh what a day. We were super duper tired!
Anyway, that's the end of our Bandung Trip story. We'll be going for umrah this Friday. Now packing in the process.
Enjoice~~
The first plan for day 4 was to go to Cipaduyut Leather House and in the afternoon Trans Studio / Pasar Baru. But, they changed the plan last minute. I was down with food poisoning and fever. Thus, i could not join them. I even could not get up from the bed. That bad!
The night before i kept on vomiting. Tried eating after that vomited back. Urghhh....The same things happened also in the morning. My fever kept on and off. I just slept and had full rest. I thought we would not managed to buy anything at Pasar Baru.
Around 1pm, i felt more energy but still dizzy. I just took shower, solat and got ready. Took medicines and off we went to Pasar Baru ourselves by taxi. Unfortunately, Ayser's water bottle left in the taxi. We had to find new one before another trip.

First, we went to buy all the things that were ordered by my sis and my mom. Ohh, i forgot one thing, my sis ordered 'pisang salai'. I totally forgot. Pity her. After settled theirs, we went to find 'kain ela' for hubby and Ayser 'baju melayu'.
Then, suddenly my mom asked to buy for the whole family! So, we bought 'kain ela' for 'baju melayu' only for 22 meters! Super heavy. Then, mom ordered some cotton cloths for her Jubah. And i bought 'kain ela' for my 'baju kurung'.
We still brought our small hand luggage. But, this time cannot fit anymore because too many things! Haha. After settled everything which was 5pm on the dot, we quickly went back to hotel by taxi. The trafiic jam is super crazy!
After that, we joined back the group for dinner. But, still i did not have the appetite. I just tasted the tomyam and some rice then i had to sit outside because i could not stand the smell.
Then, we went back to hotel for packing time! We needed to leave early the next day to Jakarta to avoid traffic jam. Ohhh....what a day. Alhamdulillah, i slowly recovered. :)
Our day 3 began with a trip to Mount Tangkuban Parahu. It's a volcano actually. We had to went out early because the journey took about 2 hours and had to avoid the rain. IT's raining season now!
Hubby was down with fever since day 2 but he recovered fast after took some medicines.
Hubby and the lil boy duofie before the journey. The journey was quite long because of the traffic and also bus took longer time right. In the bus, the tour guide told a tale story about the Mount Tangkuban Parahu. The story was quite long until i fell asleep and i did not managed to listen till the end of the story.
During the journey, some of them already felt dizzy and nausea and vomited because of the road is like a snake!
Once we reached at the bus parking area, we needed to take a van to the top. We had to be careful with 'belerang' smell. People with respiratory problems might face problems with the smell.
As we reached the top, the smell was not really bad. We walked around the volcano crater.This volcano crater is the largest crater called 'Kawah Ratu'. There is small crated at the other side but we did not go there.
We took our photo on our own actually. There were so many street sellers that followed you. I was so irritated actually because we cannot spend time on our own. There was a seller that followed us all the time. He offered to take picture for us but i did not dare to give our handphone to him! So scary ok!
The pictures took usng hubby's handphone because my handphone was full already. Dang! I had to clear up the memory.
After that, we went down to the bus parking area and went to the hotspring. Sorry, cant remember the name agan.
Triofie! Haha. The pool at the back is 30 Degree Celcius! There were other pools that is hotter but we did not go further.
Triofie again while this lil boy is happy!
Mommy and Ayser duofie while waiting for daddy to take off shoes for feet soaking.
I did not join hubby because too lazy. Haha. Then, we went back to the bas parking area which was qute far. Luckily, we managed to reach at the bus on time because it was raining after that! Heavy rain! Like i said raining season.
After that, we had our lunch. This is where i got my food poisoning. On the way back i started felt dizzy and nausea and uneasy. I took medicines but i still felt uneasy. We did not go back to the hotel yet.
We went to De Arum Manis outlet for shopping session. I just bought sleep pants only and had no mood for shopping. Then, we went to Rumah Mode for shopping session. There were lotsa things to shop but i just had no mood and uneasy. I bought another sleep pants. Hubby bought sleep pants too. And Ayser 'pow'ed us a car!
Then, we quickly went back to the restaurant where the bas parked there. I did not take the dinner because i lose appetite at all. It was Nasi Padang cuisine and not my liking. So, i just ordered orange juice. Before that, i had vomited already. So, my food poisoning started! With fever........
That's the end of our day 3...
Salam and good day uols.
For the 2nd day, the first plan was to go to Tangkuban Parahu. But, later they changed the plan because of the hostel issue so we had to pack our bag again to move to hotel.
Before that, we has our breakfast at Promenade Hotel. This hotel is quite nice. Unfortunately, we couldnt stay here because fully booked already. So, we had to stay at other hotel.
See happy faces! It's very hard to snap his picture when he's smiling. Luckily, i managed to snap one.
While waiting for others, snapped another picture. Then, we went back to the hostel to pack our bag.
The plan changed to shopping at Pasar Baru! We were given approx. 4 hours for shopping.
This lil boy before threw his tantrum. Yes, we did not shop that day because Ayser was not in his mood. He cried out loud! We went to the surau and i bfed him and he fell asleep.
Then, hubby carried him while he was sleeping. We went to buy simcard for our phone. Suddenly, he woke up and continued crying out loud.
I was so exhausted! We went back to the shop that our group were there. I bfed him again and it was very hard to bfed him n public with his tantrums. Urghhh. Finally, i managed to bfeed him and after that he get back to normal and played with other kids. Pheww!! What a relief. But, we went back with empty bag! Yes, we brought a hand luggage to put our haul inside the bag for easy carrying.
Around 12.30pm, we had to gather and had lunch. Then, we went to the hotel to check-in. We had our rest and around 4pm we had to gather again for another shopping session!
We went to Ci-Walk or Jalan Cihampelas i think. I cant remember the name. The were so many outlets along the road. We just walked around at the new outlet.
Anddd he found this! Had to give him to play for a while. Else, mommy and daddy could not shopping :D. After that, we walked along the road and finally stopped at one outlet. We managed to buy a few things. Hehe. But not so many la. I bought a colored jeans and hubby bought a jeans too. That's for today. Hihi.
Around 6.30pm, we had to gather again for our dinner! Sundanes cuisine again. The food was quite nice. Then, as usual we ordered Alpokat Juice! We really love the juice. Here the price was very cheap compared to Malaysia.
Previously, i did on my own the juice but quite messy so i stopped making the juice.
Finally, we went back to hotel for rest. Fuhhh! finish my day 2. Day 3 coming up!!!!!

Assalamualaikum and good day u ols. Sorry for taking some time to update about out Bandung Trip. I was quite busy with preparation and packing for the next trip. Or more likely to be our ibadah.
Ok, on early December to be exact, 6 December 2013, we went for Bandung Trip. Our flight was at 9.10am so we had to depart from Melaka super early at 3.30am! I didnt sleep at all because risau kan terlajak tido and lambat. Dah siap terus pegi hubby's office berkumpul naik bas and zass to KLIA.
We reached KLIA around 5.30am and prepared for checking-in. Meanwhile waiting, we went for Subuh prayer and had a lil breakfast.
Ayser and i waiting for our food! Kelaparan ok. Pepagi buta x tido lagi memang la perut berkeroncong aje. Our flight shud be 9.10am but delayed till 10am i think. Lupe dah. Time tu ngn they changed Gate without proper notice. So, kelam kabut la jd nye. Awal2 kaki dah sakit sebab kene jalan jauh and patah balik. Adoiiyaiiii!
Then, we didnt get the front row seat plak tu. Kesempitan since i have to pangku Ayser for 2 hours! He was sleeping all the time on the flight. Lega sebab dia xde la cranky but i was super tired cos had to hold him.
We arrived at Jakarta airport around 12pm and took a bus to Bandung. The traffic was quite heavy. It took around 4 hrs to reach Bandung. Pheww what a journey! I'm not sure why they chose to Jakarta instead of direct to Bandung. Maybe the tickect fares cheaper i think.
On the way to Bandung, we stopped at the RnR for our lunch! Makan nasi padang. Honestly, i'm not a fan of nasi padang. So makan pon sikit je la. I prefer Sunda more. I cant remember the restaurant name. Actually, i forgot all restaurants name we went for the whole trip! :D
Sorry, dah habis makan baru teringat nak snap picture. The food biasa biasa only. Nothing to fancy about.
Then, we continued our journey to Bandung. We arrived safely around 4pm and directly to the hostel provided. Yessss, hostel not hotel yek. We did not managed to go to Pasar Baru that day because of the heavy traffic caused us to reach Bandung late. After checking-in, we had some rest in the room and prepared for our dinner plak.
Around 6.30pm, we went out for dinner. 6.30pm in Bandung equals to 7.30pm Malaysia. They are late an hour from Malaysia. For dinner, we had Sundanese cuisine. The food here was nice ! I love the tempe cili padi. There's in the picture. Very crispy and spicy!
This lil boy was very hungry and he started eating first! haha. After dinner, we went back to the hostel and had rest for tomorrow. I was super tired plus i didnt sleep the whole night before. Thus, i terus pengsan once everything dah settle.
We continue the next day in the next entry ya!
Happy Monday!

Nov 2013 Week 4 (25 Nov - 30 Nov)
By this time, we are already in Bandung for hubby's company trip. I had scheduled my post for today and this week we wont be having our activity. Have to postpone next week if i have enough energy and time to prepare because we will coming back on late Saturday.
This week, we continued with letter Dd. I have changed the printables using different source. I referred from this blog:
3Dinosaurs. Other than that, i also referred to thig blog:
Little Tiger Growing Up for the sensory bin/box/tub inspiration.
Note: This is a quite long post!
Letter of the Week = Dd
Object of the Week = Dinosaur
Colour of the Week = Orange
Vocabulary Development Theme of the Week = Shapes
This time, i did not manage to snap a picture of letter Dd because i had no time to prepare them properly. I was quite busy packing and preparing for our Bandung trip.
For Tot Trays, i maintained as last week's Tot Trays. Ayser was very happy playing with all the items of all trays until he tore the sandpaper letters. I might re-do the sandpaper letters using cardstock material or might laminate them before glue the letters on the card.
For this week, i added new activity which is sensory bin/box/tub inspired by
Little Tiger Growing Up . It consists of:
1. dinosaurs figurines
2. some green pom-poms with small bowl for transfering and some green pipe cleaners
3. miniature trees which i took from my mom's and the salad became a tree
4. a green cloth which look like i dont know how to describe but quite rough for the sensory part
5. square and rectangular pieces foam and plain papers and a few of rocks
Note:
- Make sure items are not too small to prevent choking
This is for sensory development which teaches rough & smooth, big & small, heavy& light, and some fun!!
When i prepared this tub, Ayser was watching me. He was very excited when the tub was ready. He played immediately and i didnt manage to snap pictures. He played and messing around the room with all the items. I'll be leaving this tub for quite some time until i have other ideas. Haha.
This time, my sister who is currently on semester break helped me with Aser's activities. The printables were different for the week. Ayser was doing tracing the lines. After that, he scribbled and scribbled.
Still continued with tracing the lines but this not a straight lines. Different angle. He still did not used to trace lines properly.
When he got bored, he asked to got off from his chair. Then, we continued with his favourite activity. Sorting shapes!
After that, we continued with Dot the Letter. Since we still do not have the proper dot marker, we used stickers instead! We showed how to stick the sticker on the dot to him. He followed after that. Ayser was very excited doing this activity. Every time he sticked, he would yeay after that. See his happy face.
This is the final outcome after he sticked. He did 2 sets of letter. Oh by the way, my
fren also did this activity to her children.
Then, we continued with Dinosaurs stickers activity. I just took the numbering sheet asked him to stick on the paper.
This time, tracing the shapes. Quite challenging for him and he just scribbled after we guided him.
Other than that, we also did our reading session, puzzles, lacing activity but i did not take any pictures. For the next letter, i'm not sure when we'll be doing it. Maybe this month we have to take a rest or if i manage to prepare next week we have time to do it because end of the month also we'll be out stationed.
Ok, we want to enjoy our Bandung Trip and entries for this week will be lesser. See whether we can get the internet connection.
Enjoice~~!!

5) Polystyrene board
6) Sewing kit
You can just sew the buttons on the felt and glue the felt on the polystyrene board while the other cloths or felt just cut according to shapes and cut in the middle to make the button hole. That simple. But, i asked my cousin's help to sew them properly so that the cloths will not tear later.
For the zip, you need to attach cloths together with the zip and sew it on the felt. For velcro, just sew on the felt and attach together. Finally, attach or glue on the polystyrene board for easy usage.
I made 2 different boards so that i have more activities and easy for my son to do his activity. So, this is the final product. The zip & velcro board. Ayser was very excited doing this activity.
And my buttoning board. You can do in different shapes and different sizes of buttons. Ayser also was very excited seeing this board but quite challenging for him to button back the cloth/felt.
Very very big thank you to my cousin, Ain for helping me to finish this DIY project. Else, it will take tons of days to finish it.
Happy Monday and happy DIY-ing!

My Latin Flen Club said this is my cindelella shoes. Haha. Yes, for me it's sooo expensive yet i have to buy it because i need a comfy shoes!
I had ordered from online seller to buy for me in Paris. The colour i chose was either almond or black (the old design) with gold hardware buckle. Unfortunately, there was unavailable in Paris. Even they checked again in Milan also the colour that i wanted is not available.
So, they refunded the deposit to me. I need to get this shoes urgently because i need to wear it during our trip next month which is next week! Last Saturday, during the International Education & Parenting Conference, we skipped one of the session and dropped by KLCC to buy the shoes :D :D

At first, i asked for black colour and tried it. But, it was quite tight for me in size 7 but size 8 was wayyy too big for me. The SA showed me the latest design of Bermuda Jelly Shoes which in electric blue and shocking pink. I wanted the buckle in gold hardware or silver hardware. But, the SA said this is the latest design which the buckle follows the colour of the shoes.
So, i tried the shoes and it fitted nicely without feeling tightness. I fell in love with both colors actually. But, for easy matching, i chose the electric blue instead.
Comparing the price, it's quite expensive than the online seller but i need it urgently, i really had to buy the shoes. Yeayy to new shoes but nayy to the price!
Hello Bermuda Jelly Shoes! Welcome to Mama :D :D. Dah dirasmikan on that day sambung pegi conference pakai hehe. Nice!
We'll see how it feels when wearing for long journey. Ohh btw, about the International Education & Parenting Conference i will be blogging about it later coz i need some time to write on the serious issue. :)
Happy weekend peeps!
If you are familiar with Montessori learning, you will know this sandpaper letter cards. The actual card is made by wood and cost a bomb! Alternatively, i found one of the blog: Little Tiger Growing Up did a DIY version of sandpaper letter cards. So, i could save money! Yeay!
This sandpaper letter is one of the Montessori method for multi-sensory approach as well as language. It could develop a muscular impression of the letter shapes and to associate the sounds with the shapes. This also helps to develop a visual impression and to learn the writing direction of the letter shapes.
I took the printable from
montessorimaterials.org
Lowercase alphabets:
http://www.montessorimaterials.org/Language/printlower.pdf
Uppercase alphabet:
http://www.montessorimaterials.org/Language/printcapital.pdf
Materials:
1) The alphabets / numbers printable
Print it out and cut the letters individually. The letters are in black colour.
2) Sandpaper
You can buy it at the DIY shop. Search for the finest sandpaper. It costs around RM0.80 per piece. Trace the letters that you have cut them out from the printable. Make sure the white color is on the top of the sandpaper else you might get the alphabets wrong direction.
3) Cardboard
I used hardcover paper so it is quite fragile. I might re-do this cards later on since Ayser has tore some of the letters and i had to glue them and it looked terrible. I have blank business cards so i might use the cards instead for the new sandpaper letters.
This is the final product. It took me weeks to finish it because of the card size. :D. Actually half day enough for you to settle this DIY. Total cost is about RM3. It depends on the materials you buy. The original price of this sandpaper letters is RM190.00! Can you imagine it's so expensive. Faint!
Let's try it ok!
Enjoice!
Nov 2013 Week 3 (18 Nov - 24 Nov)
I'm still continuing with our weekly activity. For this week, i'm still referring and using printables and information from 1+1+1=1.
Note again: This is a very long post!
Letter of the Week = Cc
Object of the Week = Cat
Colour of the Week = Blue
Vocabulary Development Theme of the Week = Pets
This week's theme is pets but i dont have any of animal dolls that can be a pet. Maybe one or two only. The dog and cow (can consider as a pet rite?). Others were teddy bears. Never mind. Heplayed with the dolls btw. Haha.
For Tot Trays, these items were my DIY projects. From left is buttoning board activity. In the middle is sandpaper lowercase letters. And last one is zipping & velcro board. All the DIY projects i'll be blogging about them soon ya.
Ayser was so excited when he saw the two boards. He played with both of the boards. Zipping he managed to unzip and zipped back. For velcro, he managed to take out the side of the velcro but he still didnt know to put together back. For buttoning, this is quite challenging for him. So, i have to guide him to un-button and button back the cloths.
As for the sandpaper lowercase letters, he took the cards and read the letters for a while then he threw away or crumpled the card. I have to find the thicker paper for this kind of cards.
As usual, Ayser scribbled the sheet using Crayola Washable Marker in Blue.
I guided him to find from one cat to another cat to make 'C' letter. After that, he scribbled and doodled the sheet.
We used the same method as the above to make him familiar with this kind of activity though he still did not understand.
He was happily scribbling and showed me. Then, i read the object one by one with him. He was so happy and continued scribbling.
His favourite part. Shape sorting! He managed to sort correctly! Again, i dont have the crescent/half moon shape :D.
He was still doesnt know how to draw a line from left to right. So, i had to trace together with him from left to right. He was not focus this time.
My sis just came back from Sydney for her semester break. So, i asked her to buy some washable markers there. This one is the stamp markers with different shapes. I took the half moon stamp marker and guided Ayser to stamp on the 'C' letters.
Sorting the card in sequence. He did for a few seconds only. Then he threw the cards away. Time to change the activity i think or maybe the printables.
This 3 pieces puzzle also he just sorted out for few seconds only with my guidance. Then, he didnt want to do anymore.
Seriously, i have to change the printables. These matching cards also he did for a few seconds and threw them away. Though he loves cat, but he disliked the cards! Haha. Maybe too much activities at the same time he was bored already.
Stamping the letter on the cat. He loved to do this but soooooo messy! Look at the stamp pad. He mixed the colors together. I wanna faint! At the end, i took it away coz already super messy. Even he stamped on the table.
This time, i left the coloring and numbering. :D Others i managed to finish. I was planning to continue letter 'C' to this week but changed my mind to proceed with letter 'D' this week. Other than this, we did Baby Khalifah series and reading as well.
Ok, for letter 'D', i have added one more activity which is sensory bin/box. Later will show you ok.
Till then, enjoice!
Last Friday, my parents tutup their clinic because birthday Sultan Johor. So, kene la tutup if not nanti kene saman. My parents nak cari barang2 kat Uniqlo and the nearest is at Alamanda. Melaka belum ada lagi Uniqlo. Maybe this coming December akan buka one outlet at Dataran Pahlawan.
So, we went to KL la on that Friday. By the time sampai dah Friday prayer. we went to Bandar Baru Bangi first and dropped my father at masjid nearby. Then, we went to Siti Khadijah boutique.
I bought a denim telekung. Dark colour so senang la nak gune kan nanti. And for my umrah later too. InsyaAllah. My mom bought the denim telekung too and some tudungs. My sis bought some tudungs. I wanted to buy a jubah but their designs and colours are limited so x jadi la kan.
Then, we went straight to Alamanda. Tak sempat la nak lunch kat area BBB kan coz Ayser dah poo poo ngn incident tangan terkepit kat pintu plakkan. Terberrr terus. Nak kene mencari baby room so terus ke Alamanda.
Sampai2 je terus g Baby Room then baru la ke Uniqlo. Lunch belum lagi ni. Shopping sakan la mereka kan. Ayser plak dok sebok posing ngan sunglasses. Sumer jenis sunglasses dia try la kan. Berkejaran ngn dia nak snap photos and ambik balik the sunglasses.
My sis spent about RM350 alone. My parents 1K++. Haha. I only bought fleece jacket in pink! My dad cakap macam baju tido jek. But bila try nampak ok je x de la mcm baju tido. Japanese style kan. Haha.
Lepas shopping terus g cari makan sebab dah lapar sangat. Ayser pon dh kelaparan. Ngamuk la apa lg kan. After that, we ols terus balik Melaka. My journey the next day pun to Putrajaya again. Haihhh. Kepenatan that weekend.
Durian Lover!
24 Nov 2013 4:00 PM (11 years ago)
Guess who's the durian lover? Of course my lil cutie pie kan. Sangat2 durian lover ok. I introduced him durian when he was 17months or 18 months, can't remember already. At first, he rejected the durian. Maybe he tasted something weird kan.
But, after that he tasted again he liked it very much. Last week, my father brought back some durians which was given by his patient. Durian kampung yang baru jatuh. Fresh lagi. Panas2 lagi isi dia bila kopek tu.
Perghh, really sweet and delicious ok!
See his happy face eating durian. I have to feed him la kan. Tak bole bagi dia makan sendiri. Tercekik biji nanti dah satu hal pulakkan.
He ate almost 6 ulas. Then, i sambung makan la pulakkan. Yelaa, i pon durian lover gak. But masa i pregnant i x suka makan pon durian. haha.
Memang lepas tu soh dia minum air masak banyak2 sebab nanti badan panas malam x bole tido plakkan.
The day before ada dapat gak but not so good. Dapat sikit jek. So dia je la makan kan. Pastu x bole nak tido sebab body heat kan.
Ada jugak dapat manggis dr the same patient tu. I makan sikit je la time tu. Ni tatau dah abes ke blom kan. Ayser i x bg pulak dia makan kan time tu. Tengok la if ada lagi bole le makan kan.
Now dah musim buah2 an ke? Confuse jap haha.
Happy working!
