"If there were a land of blind-folded people, would they understand the concept of sight? Sometimes, my 'blindfold' slips a little bit." - KanadeWhat if the world is like a place filled with blindfolded people, and then every once in a while your blindfold slips, and you can see a glimpse of another time... well, that's exactly what Kanade is experiencing. When she bumps into a person, every so often, she gets to see a bit of that person's future. Thus the title "Land of the Blindfolded", except for her and two other that are in kahoots.
One day she bumps into Arou, and luckily, she didn't "see". On the other hand Arou "saw", and from then on knew her secret. Thing is, Arou also had an awesome ability that makes him see through time, but back into the past. He and Kanade are looking into two opposite directions of the timeline and balance each other out. Although while Kanade's blindfold slips a little, Arou's blindfold is gone, and he can see through the past indefinitely. Don't they just make the perfect couple?
Not if Namiki had anything to do with it. Namiki had the same power as Kanade, although his is more pronounced as he uses it constanly in gambling to pay his own rent as his parents disowned him because of his abilities.
So they make quite the trio who fights for justice. Truth of the matter is, only Kanade wants to meddle with other people's affairs to make sure nothing bad happens to them as she sees her power as a venue to help people. Both Arou and Namiki thinks otherwise though and are only helping people to make sure Kanade doesn't get hurt in the process (cause they both like her, but you already knew that didn't you?) You see, if you save someone from falling into a hole, they'd even get mad at you for getting in the way. They aren't even the least bit thankful that you saved their life...but Kanade doesn't mind, that's a better option than to see that person getting hurt when she could have done something about it.
So if you see their power as a blessing or a curse is all up to you, but through that they get all sorts of rich experiences and encounters for themselves, even through other people's lives. One thing was sure, they wouldn't even have met if it weren't for their extraordinary gifts. (This kind of reminds me of the Time Traveler's Wife, where the middle-aged guy wouldn't even have met the little girl if it weren't his ability to hop through time uncontrollably.)

I'm surprised why a lot of my friends don't know this book. From the plot itself, I was scrambling to get myself a copy. If you are a fan, then you should definitely check this one out. First off, the protagonist (or antagonist, depending on how you see it) is also a young boy, twelve years of age. Although he doesn't have any magical abilities, he makes up for it with his intense IQ and wit. He is a very smart and logical young boy, too bad he falls short on the socializing skills as he is not very aware of social cues. He analyzes everything through logic, and rarely takes into consideration the emotional aspects of what is right and wrong.
He is a unique young boy indeed. Too smart to fit in with his peers, of whom he does not care to mingle anyway. His only companion is his butler, whom he calls Butler, as these prestigious butlers who are paired to a charge the moment they are born are not allowed to divulge their real names. Butler is a one man fighting machine, and he is very useful to Artemis' devious schemes. Butler is the Brute, Artemis is the Brains.
Artemis does not have anyone alive in particular he looks up to, as he feels that he is far superior than even a lot of adults, which his psychologist thinks is a problem. Too bad he feels he is far smarter than his psychologist to care about his views. His inflated IQ very much resulted to his inflated ego. He does not like playing like all the other kids his age, in his spare time, he likes to carry out devious plots, and his recent most spectacular scheme yet is to acquire fairy gold.
You might think that he is off his rocker, but that is the beauty of being young and intelligent. He is young enough to still believe in things such as magic, and intelligent enough to exploit it.

At the bottom of the book are fairy language symbols, here is the translation. It is...well...unusual. Just go ahead and see for yourself.
*SPOILER ALERT*
Thing is, this dastardly plot is not as easy to carry out as finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The fairies he is up against are not the cute fairies you usually see in fairy tales. They are the ones that use hi-tech equipment and latest technologies far ahead of human time, courtesy of the genius centaur Foaly, the reason why humans have not been able to catch up with Fairy Technology, making Foaly indispensable.
It's a good thing that they are a friendly race or they would have conquered the world in no time. Instead, they like to live peacefully under the earth, literally beneath human notice, which is why after time they had lost their ability to fly. They make up for it with artificial wings that does not work as good as the original, but still works just as well. They still use a little bit of magic though, where they need to charge up every once in a while to use. Most notable is their ability to use mesmer, or control minds if they look into their victim's eyes. Every once in a while, a human may become too close to finding their secret, but they don't worry about that too much as they can always wipe their memories, and place new memories instead.
It's too bad for them that Artemis know all about their fairy tricks as he has been able to acquire a copy of their Fairy Bible. And what's worse for the fairies is he knows about the Ransom Fund.
This Ransom Fund is typically used to negotiate if a fairy has been held captive, and it has never been used, until now. Artemis was able to hold captive a LEPrecon, or a fairy police, but this was not just any LEP, she's Holly Short, and yes, she is a girl. The first girl in LEP history; and Commander Root isn't too happy that she had succeeded even if he made things much harder for her so that she can prove that she deserves the title. She did deserve the title as she was definitely better than the other male LEPs, but she was to face her biggest trial yet, facing a devious 12 year old boy.
At first, she belittled Artemis, taking into consideration his young age, but she soon found out that he is not someone to be taken likely. He knows far more about them than she could imagine, and while she is at Artemis' Mansion, she is under his rules, based on the bizzare fairy guidelines. But Holly is far from helpless, she knows that even the rules can have loopholes, but she still need outside help. The LEP retrieval squad was deployed with only the best (?) fairies on board. As the circumstances were drastic, they even employed the help of Mulch Diggums, the convict.
Because Mulch had broken the rules of house broking so many times, he is already immune to the punishment of vomiting when he enters a house uninvited. Of course, he had to give up his magic, which he wasn't too fond of anyhow, he has other abilities at his disposal. He can unhinged his jaw and dig pretty deep below earth. The after affects are awful though, but Mulch doesn't seem to mind and can also be seen as a protective measure. So here is it is, he farts gas. And this is just not any normal fart, it is deadly and explosive, and can make even Butler out cold.
As all the normal fairy attempts have failed, they decided to take drastic measures, yes even more drastic than Mulch-- they sent a troll in. It did damage alright, and even hurt Butler badly. Poor Butler, out cold on two instances: fart gas and toll force. It's a good thing Holly was able to accidentally heal him and he was able to defeat the fearsome beast.
Running out of choices, Commander Julius Root decided to fool Artemis, paying up with the gold so he would release Holly, but then killing him after wards with the bio-bomb. With the time stop in place at Artemis' mansion, they can use the bio bomb in that secluded place alone, which will effectively kill all living things inside while leaving everything else untouched. Artemis said he had a way out of it, and Commander Root and everyone else thought he was bluffing, but he isn't, he had a plan. In theory.
Artemis noticed that his mom was able to escape the time stop by sleeping. Since the time stop was in place, they could not sleep a wink so Artemis inferred by using sleeping pills, he too can escape the time stop and not be annihilated. Fortunately for him, his theory worked and he won the gold fair and square, so the fairies could no longer fight back. He did not take all of the gold though, he used half of it to ask Holly to heal his deranged mother who has been out of touch with reality since his dad disappeared. It seems Artemis still has some humanity left in him after all.
Artemis' fairy affairs does not end there, in fact, there are now a total of 6 books in the series and counting. In order of release comes Artemis Fowl

. I was so sure that it ended on the Eternity Code, but it seems that since it was such a hit, it carried on for a few other sequels. It's a good thing Eoin Colfer still has a few tricks for Artemis up his sleeve. There are also some extra related stories like The Artemis Fowl Files

Movie & Graphic Novels
I think there are plans to make this into a movie, but so far it has always been delayed. I think they can definitely make a hit with this with millions of fans every where. Eoin Colfer even volunteered to become script writer, so this is going to be good, I can tell. There are Artemis Fowl Graphic Novels 1

though, which are of course cartoonish but still has that smart feel.All in all, it is a wild adventure that you would spend the whole day trying to finish. In every series they seem to get into impossible situations but in the end they end they always ingeniously get out of it.

Every so often you come across a TV show that you just have to get on DVD, and HIMYM is one of them.
TED
Here is the story of a guy, let's call him Ted Mosby, who's on a quest to find the mother of his children, and any single guy would know that this is no small feat. Here is one guy presented with 3 billion women, just how do you know which is THE one? I guess you'll just have to go through them one by one. Meet, date, get to know a bit more, find something unappealing, break up, start over- yep that's the story of Ted's life so far, and I will tell you one thing, it is hilarious.
Along with that problem, he is also a struggling Architect who wants to one day build a skyscraper in New York. It's not easy being Ted, but that's life, and he's just got to get through with it somehow. It's a good thing he is surrounded with good people who makes things easier (or harder) for him.
ROBIN
Let's start off with Robin. So the story kicks off with Ted starting off a relationship the worst possible way, that is, just when they were getting more comfortable on a date in her apartment, he tells Robin he loves her. Now, you may think okay, yeah that's not so bad...but believe me, if you know Robin, this is disastrous! You see, Robin has the single bug and despises any relationship that has something to do with getting serious, so any guy saying I love you is literally the kiss of death. Fortunately for Ted, they still managed to stay friends and Robin even became part of their small group.
MARSHALL
So next comes Marshall, the humongous cuddly teddy bear lawyer, and Ted's best friend since college. He has always watched out for Ted and he got his back. They are currently room mates and tell each other everything.
LILY
Is Marshall's soulmate, his other half. They met in college and have since been inseparable. They are the epitomy of the perfect couple since they started dating, making Marshall the exact opposite of Ted.
Lily might be small but she is tough and two steps ahead of the game, she is known to give sound advice. She is also a preschool teacher and gets a meagre salary, but she doesn't care about that as she is aspiring to be a renowned artist even if she is not so good in that aspect.
BARNEY
Ah, Barney. So where do I start? He is the Le-wait for it-gendary author of "The Bro Code

And just to make it clear, "Bros" aren't limited to men, and at one point Robin became an even better Bro than Ted. True story.
So Barney is Ted's unofficial best friend, I say unofficial because he is the only one that thinks so. He sees himself as Ted's wing man and is forever trying to sway Ted away from the idea of marriage. That to Barney is the disease that plagues mankind, the hole in the ozone layer, the termite in a wooden house, well you get the picture. To say that Barney is scared of commitment is to say that the Black Death is just a minor hiccup. So as expected, he has never even been close to being steady with just one woman, well, until Robin- but let's save that for another time. (Two people scared of commitment getting together? Epic.) As far as he is concerned for now, he is the ultimate available bachelor and a prize to women everywhere. One time, he just swore off marriage and became awesome instead. True story.

This contains all his moves and techniques, that every girl he ever played with wants to claw into, or feed (him) to the sharks. You see, Barney is known to seduce a woman, then run off the second he got her to bed. It's actually so ingrained in his system that he can even sleepwalk out of her apartment unconsciously.

You just gotta love Barney and how he works hard at not being in a relationship. He even thinks that "catching feelings" is some sort of sickness. Well, in any case, he is awesome in more ways than one, and not just because he said so. He also has a very bankable job, where for one he works in a bank, and for two, no one knows what he does exactly but he is loaded.
This show kind of reminds me of Friends but I think Friends
has the upper hand since it was the pioneer. Friends hanging out, drinking coffee/beer, going on and off with each other, sound familiar? But this has its plus points too, and mostly those points belong to Barney, kudos to him. Barney is the highlight of the show, no doubt about it, but the other characters are also lovable in their own way.

I think what I like about "One Day at a Time" is that it is a blog that tackles just about anything that you experience on a regular basis like food, photos, movies, blogging, and sometimes just anything out of the blue and in this way she is spontaneous :) I'm also into a lot of fun stuff, and I think we have quite a few in common regarding this. Check out her about page to learn more about this fun gal.
It's also a plus that she is a user of Entrecard and Top Commentator so people can also gain more exposure from visiting her blog. This is a good way to get regular people in your blog from dropping and commenting.
I think these are just some of the few reasons why she has a bunch of Blog Awards which credits her nice blog and her being a nice friend.
The layout is pretty simple which I particularly like. There are a lot of widgets though, and maybe a widget or two can be removed to improve loading speed, as it is not a calculated into Page Rank. I'm not an expert on this, but basically I try to remove any widget that I don't really need. (But I have a few guilty pleasures! hehe)

Wow girl, you have 12 sites?? Just how do you do it?! I can barely handle two sites let alone a double digit number! Blogging is hard work, but I think you are doing quite well anyways. Keep it up!
So I'm just blogging to tell you guys that BHO is back in action! (I would have cried if my blog was taken from me!) Well all that matters is you are back and smarter than ever. :)
BTW, pretty cool name if I say so myself. If that domain name is not taken, you should seriously think of taking it!
I will make another more comprehensive post of why you SHOULD make a self-hosted site if I have some time to spare later. This also coming from personal experience and research. I'll comment again if I have it up. :)

I think what I like most about this blog is the usefulness of the thoughts she shares about real life situations. Simple suggestions, like what products to use and where to have something fixed, can really help an average consumer like me. I can safely say that even snippets of another person’s experiences can help you make a task easier to do, or even save your life.
Like, I’ve never had the experience of someone point a knife at me, but now I guess I would have the presence of mind to call attention if I can. There is a risk though, maybe if you startle the thief too much he’s just stab you, every part is a risk, which is why you have to be prepared of what you should do before it happens. I also learned that it is good to find a boyfriend that is a martial arts expert, good for her! I hope there would be others around. LOL
It would seem that this blogger is into a lot of traffic generating sites. I’m not sure if all of them are good, but I use a few of them myself. I actually like learning on how to make more traffic and gain readership from other sites.

The moment I set foot(?) to her blog, the first thing I noticed was the really nice cartoon outside scenery complete with a tree house, the sun peeking out, flowers on the grass with soothing colors, a pop up window, and cute animals.Needless to say, I thought the overall layout of her site is awesome and looks nicely custom made. I hope to get something like this for my blog one day too.
In any case, in her blog she talks on Just About Anything related to her life experiences and current faves, which I think is pretty cool.She can blog about a lot of different topics that involves being a mom., food, and contests. See, the stuff she writes about are useful!
An entertainment related post she made talked about her love affair with Coffee Prince, and I totally know she is dead on as this is one of my most fave dramas next to Hana Yori Dango.And you could be sure it would have a good ending. :)

Funny how when I was first checking out the site I felt the clouds moved, and I was like no way, that's just my imagination. But then I blinked and somehow noticed that it moved again, just a little bit. So I spent some time stupidly looking at the clouds and cheering whenever it moved, pretty cool. Though I wonder by how much this slows down loading. Would be nice to have more of these designs that I can be happy about.
The blog is actually a personal blog with her thoughts about her family and for now specifically about her baby who is about to have her 2nd Birthday! Yay! Really a time for preparations for the celebration; you can follow her to see how it turns out! I like how she used video clips to make the presentation per post more appealing to her readers that I'm sure look forward to each update!

This was compiled in support of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the largest animal rights organization in the world. They work hard to make sure that all animals, including cute puppies like me, are treated with the love and respect that we deserve. You will be able to know more about this through their mission statement and blog that mostly talks about cruelty done to animals and how it should be stopped.

So let me tell you more about It's Not Always About Me!
I must say that it appears to be a really fun blog! The topics are quite random but all fun! I'm a big fan of Shoujo Manga, Glee and Twilight myself. I'm planning on buying the entire first season of Heroes now that I know I might be able to finish the complete series. I think it's really good and it's sad that it has ended.
Aesthetic wise, I'm more of a blue than pink person, but the color scheme and flowers is actually pretty cute! I like it! I wish my blog had a little more personal touch, maybe someday.
Her contest actually opened doors to a lot of new blogs that I have to check out. I'm sure all the blogs listed there are also fun and friendly!

So what can I say about Drama Queen? Of course being super emote is a plus, nothing bad about being passionate about your likes, especially if they are totally cool!
I'm really into dramas, may it be Korean, Japanese or Taiwan versions! That is why any suggestions on what might be a good watch is welcome! You'd bet I'd finish it within the week! (It could have been faster if I did not have anything else to do :)
Right now I'm also a big fan of Glee, and the Somebody to Love video classic! I can watch it over and over and not get tired of it! Right now I only get to watch snippets of Glee but I'm planning to watch the whole season soon when I got the time!

I'm actually quite a fan of Magic the Gathering myself, so when I saw that another girl like me was hooked on it as well, I knew I had to check it out!
MT Girl is not your ordinary Magic player, she really knows her stuff and uses different builds to find out which is the best suited for her playing style. I personally like green/black, blue/white mixes, but mind you, I'm no expert. My brother actually just needed someone to play with every now and again.
Though I must admit that it really is an addicting game, and if you have some cash to spare you have to try it out for yourself, and maybe even get some few tips from MT Girl herself!
