In many parts of the United States a rule about not wearing white after Labor Day, which takes place on the first Monday in September, is heavily ingrained. The root of the idea that people should not wear white after Labor Day appears to be shrouded in mystery, and the rule has been greatly relaxed since the 1950s and 1960s when it was more heavily enforced. People who choose to wear white into the fall are no longer heavily criticized for the choice and are sometimes embraced as fashion-forward trendsetters. As summer slowly comes to an end, Highsnobette strongly recommends taking this last chance to dress up in white and celebrate the holiday with a cool drink.
Check out our Labor day essentials on the next page.

“Conduct Your Touch” is a sensual music video from LA band, Von Haze, that celebrates touch, skin, and all sexuality be it gay, straight, lesbian, and transgender (only accidentally timely in this current climate surrounding DOMA). The video stars Andre J, a NYC icon and fashion muse to Carine Roitfeld, as the androgynous love God/Dess ‘blessing’ four couples engaged in intimacy and ecstasy, where their bodies intertwine and gender becomes irrelevant (look for cameos from bi-gendered artist Jordan Fox and Dylan Monroe, both NYC nightlife stars). The film itself is about connection and unity and was inspired by the Lovers card of the Tarot and the Alchemical Androgyne, but with a little “soft porn” and fashion thrown in the mix. The video also showcases a wardrobe from 5Preview, Logan Neitzel, Muubaa, New York Sex Trash, Norisol Ferrari, custom pieces by Zana Bayne (X PENDV), Bjorg, Chris Habana, House of Malakai, Maria Black, Mordekai by Ken Borochov, and Uncommon Matters. Credits on the flip!

HighSnobette was recently invited to the gorgeous city of Stockholm, to preview and trial the new Nike Womens autumn running and training line. All last week I (being HS’s rep in London, Amina Kahn) covered the event on Twitter and Instagram, including the launch presentations of the LunarGlide+ 5 along with the Nike Free Bionic Training shoe (above), which helped us survive the Nike Training Club bootcamp.
Without going into technical details (and there are many), I very much LOVED the LunarGlide+ 5 to the point where I must say it is the best running shoe I’ve ever put my feet in. The shoes are so light you forget you have anything on your feet apart from clouds. Our verdict? Expect to see this shoe everywhere from the gym to the streets to the office. The style is sleek, lightweight and versatile.
Up next the Free Bionic training shoe, which wore through a 45 minute intense workout (okay the view from the pier surrounded by Swedish hills and greenery helped with the pain) which pushed us to our limit. The Free Bionic is for the hardcore workout so some it’s built to be light but also provide grip and support. The design is beautiful, too, and the instant positive reaction to it on Instagram speaks to its good looks. A quick note on the Nike Dri-Fit apparel, including the new “Warp” knits, why wear anything else?
See more coverage including pics of the LunarGlide+ 5 on the next page.
Note: All product will be available on Nike.com, launch dates and colorways vary by region.
