So many things have happened since December of last year. Randy and I have moved into our brand new house, had a flooded master bathroom, a baby shower, a baby and now a full house of two very happy kids. We have been so busy with everything that is going on that I have not had the time or remembered to update the blog. My goal now that things are starting to slow down it to update as often as I can.
Aubrey is 2 and a half and has made so many friends in our neighborhood which is a good thing for me and lots of stay at home moms to hang out with too. We have grown into 3T bottoms and 5T tops which is completely crazy to me. My little girl is growing up so fast right before my eyes I can hardly believe it. We are slowly showing interest in potty training but I am not rushing it. My goal is to have her potty trained by her third birthday! Wish us luck.... Aubrey is very independent which is a good thing most of the time but has its down falls sometimes. Over the summer we put her in swim lessons which was a great success and now this little girl loves the water. We are hoping to put her in dance come Fall time since she has shown so much interest in it.
Noah is 2 and a half months old and is growing like a weed. We have officially moved out of newborn clothes and into size 3 months. We have also upgraded to size 2 diapers and is almost sleeping through the night. Randy and I are very lucky that he only wakes up once or twice to eat and does really long stretches of sleep. Noah is getting stronger and better about holding his neck up and for the most part loves tummy time. He really hates his car seat but what kid doesn't? We are slowly moving towards a routine which I am hoping to be set on when he is 3 months old.
Randy and I are doing well too, we will be celebrating our fourth anniversary on September 5th. I cannot believe we have been married for 4 years, it seems like so much longer because we have accomplished so much in such a short amount of time. We look forward to what god has in store for us over the next several years.
Happy 2nd Birthday to my sweet little girl Aubrey!! This past Saturday we celebrated her special day will close friends and family. It was a lot smaller than her 1st birthday which turned out really well. She was able to enjoy her friends and even got the hang of openning her own gifts (no help from mom this year). We also transitioned her out of the crib and into her toddler bed which seems to be going pretty well. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from her special day.
On the 9th of this month Aubrey turned 15 months old. I can hardly believe she is this old, my oh my how time has flown by. Aubrey did great at her pediatrician appointment, we found out she weighs 22 lbs and is 30 inches tall which puts her at the 50th percentile. She is getting to be such a big girl and is becoming very independent. Not only is Aubrey walking but now she is trying to run, loves playing outside, loves following her cousins around, climbing stairs and getting into the Kitchen cub boards. As far as food goes around here she still loves everything. Aubrey even has a special treat everyday when Opa (my dad) gets home from work. She immediately runs up to him and checks in his shirt pocket everyday to see if her treat is there. An ofcourse she always gets 2 m&ms from Opa. The only down fall to this is when he comes home for lunch Aubrey does the same thing and yet doesn't find anything. Everyday is a new adventure for her and what she discovers is so amazing. Aubrey no longer wants to be in the stroller or cart when we are out and about.
Recently we had to say goodbye to some wonderful friends The Pankratz family for a few years due to the Army life. Thankfully we will see them soon this summer and we will be flying to California for New Years. While the movers were packing up their house we got to spend some quaility time with Emmalyn, Aubrey's bff.
They love each other so much they were in the middle of a hug when I snapped the photo.
While in Costco the other day with my mom, Aubrey decided she didn't want to be in the cart but would rather push it instead.
We are now walking! It may only be a few steps but we sure are on our way.
The Saturday after Aubrey's birthday we had her birthday party. It was a great time spent with family and friends, and surprisingly Aubrey did really well. She took a great morning nap so I knew she would be full of fun and joy at her party. At first whenever someone new would walk through the door she started to cry, but by the time the third and fourth guests arrived she was over it and was enjoying everyone giving her special attention. We didn't plan anything super big but everyone I invited showed up so we had about 35 people in attendance. Everyone got to eat and enjoy conversations for a bit before we started to get into the presents and then the cake. The theme for the party was a Jungle one but mainly focused on Giraffes so I made a Giraffe cupcake cake and then a little smash cake for Aubrey. The Giraffe cupcakes turned out pretty good and everyone seemed to like it. During present time Aubrey did great until I took what she got away so we could open a new gift. She cried and cried until she saw a new toy or whatever it was that she received.
This is our pink Giraffe made out of cupcakes, and on the top right is Aubrey's smash cake
As we all know last Thursday was Thanksgiving and it was also Aubrey's very first one! We had such a great day with the family even though something strange happened in the middle of the night. My mom's bottom oven door exploded and we have no idea why or how it happened. Thankfully our neighbors were out of town and we could have used their oven if we needed but a friend came to the rescue and we borrowed their bottom door of their oven. Yes you just read that right, they have the exact same oven and were not in need of it so we borrowed it and had a great Thanksgiving! Aubrey ate everything but the ham (she is like her mom doesn't like it) and sweet potatoes (I forgot to give it to her). She loves food so I knew it wouldn't be a problem.
Aubrey showing how big she is
Aubrey has become my little music maker! I wonder if she will continue this as she gets older.
People have always told me how hard teething is. I never really understood what they meant by it until Aubrey started teething herself. All those long lost nights of sleep and the pain the poor child is in. I wish there was something as a mother that I could do to make it less painful for her. Yes I do give her Tylenol or Ibuprofen plus the teething tablets but to be honest sometimes those don't always work. I think teething is even harder when you have more than one tooth coming in at the same time. This would be our case, as Aubrey cut two teeth in two days. Now we are back to cutting more teeth on the top and I think it will be another two. I have also heard that teething gets easier after her first four teeth come in. I guess we shall see if that statement is true or if poor Aubrey is doomed until she gets older and can handle the pain a little better.
For now I will just enjoy my little girl with her bottom two teeth and those other ones that are working their way in!
Happy 11 months to my baby girl! I can't believe that in just 1 month my little girl will be 1 years old. She will no longer be a baby but a full fledged toddler instead. This last month is sorta bitter sweet for me. I am so excited that Aubrey is growing and learning new things but at the same time I wish she could stay little just a little longer. I am not ready for the toddler years quite yet.
Aubrey has changed so much this past month I can hardly believe it. On Halloween night we discovered Aubrey was teething majorly, the next day Aubrey had cut her first tooth! Two days later Aubrey cut her second tooth. So Aubrey now has her bottom 2 teeth which is super exciting to us. It is funny to watch her push her tongue back and forth over them because it is something new she has discovered. Her gums are really swollen on the top so those teeth shouldn't be far behind. She has gotten really good at walking along the furniture and with her walking toy. It shouldn't be long now before she walks on her own. I have caught her a few times trying to stand on her own (mostly in her crib). Playing with her magnet letter on the fridge!
Last night was such a great first Halloween for Aubrey. Even though she is teething she was such a trooper all throughout the day and night. During the day Aubrey was a lovely flower and we took her to the mall to shop. She was a very big hit it needless to say. At night she turned into a wild Giraffe and two Zoo Keepers had to tame her. All the neighbors got such a big kick out of seeing such a cute little girl trick or treating that they were not shy to hand out candy. Mom and dad made out good with her candy stash!
First custome she was a flower!
Yesterday was such a beautiful day that we decided to head down to the Pumpkin Patch! This was Aubrey's very first trip and I think she really enjoyed it (or at least Randy and I did). Both Randy and Aubrey got to pick out pumpkins, Randy's is huge and Aubrey got 2 little gourds.
Sitting on Hay right after the Hay Maze
Aubrey has now learned to climb up the stairs... We just need to teach her how to go down backwards now.
Today Aubrey is 10 months old! My oh my has this last month gone by super fast. She is now crawling and is very good at it. She is starting to side step with furniture more and more. Aubrey loves to crawl all of the house and get into so many things. We have had to rearrange several things so they are Aubrey proof. One of her favorite things to do is stand up in the bath tub, not so much one of my favorite things but she is so cute when she does it.
Aubrey still loves toys, food, giving kisses, waving, clapping, snuggle time, yelling "dada" and playing pat a cake. Some of the things she does not like are getting dressed, diaper changes, waiting for her food, or when someone is to busy to play with her. Aubrey is now testing her leg strength as she pulls herself to a standing position and sees how long she can stand without holding on to anything. So far she only last about 5 seconds before she falls to her bum. She gets so much joy out of it and laughs everytime. It wont be long now before she starts taking steps. She has such a great personality on her and she brings so much joy to our lives. I can hardly believe that in 2 short months she will be 1. She is getting so big that I wish she could stay little for a little longer. Go Seahawks!
