The show returns for a fifth series on 16 April 2011. Ant & Dec continue as main hosts on ITV, while Stephen Mulhern again host Britain's Got More Talent on ITV2. Among the judges, Piers Morgan left the show due to new U.S. work commitments. Auditions took place in January 2011 in Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, London and, for the first time, Liverpool. Simon Cowell will judge the live shows only. Amanda Holden returns to the regular judging panel, to be joined by David Hasselhoff and Michael McIntyre, with guest judges appearing during the series. Louis Walsh was a guest judge in the London auditions, replacing Hasselhoff, who was appearing in pantomime.

Creator Eric Kripke originally planned for the show to last only five seasons, but due to increased ratings from the fourth and fifth seasons, the CW network renewed the series for a sixth season. Kripke has confirmed he will not be returning as showrunner; however, he will still remain as a hands-on executive producer, leaving Executive Producer Sera Gamble to take over the reins. Gamble said the sixth season of the show will focus on the brothers' relationship. The season will steer towards the format of the early seasons with "lots of meat-and-potatoes closed-ended episodes, and...a season-long story arc to weave in". According to a press release by the CW, Heaven and Hell are now in "complete disarray", forcing Sam and Dean to reunite to "beat back the rising tide of creatures and demon-spawn" that "roam across a lawless and chaotic landscape"

The Vampire Diaries is a series of novels by L. J. Smith, now a hit television series on The CW. The story involves Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), a high school student torn between two vampire brothers Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder). In the pilot, written by Kevin Williamson (Dawson's Creek), Elena and her brother Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) are starting school after a summer of mourning the loss of their parents because of a car accident. Also enrolling in classes is the mysterious Stefan who catches Elena's eye, as well as her best friend Bonnie Bennett (Katerina Graham).

Nikita is an American television drama for The CW Television Network. It is based on the 1990 French film Nikita, 1993 remake Point of No Return, and the 1997 television series La Femme Nikita. It premieres on September 9, 2010, and will run on Thursdays at 9:00 pm Eastern/8:00 pm Central Time in the United States. The series stars Maggie Q as Nikita, a spy and assassin who has gone rogue. The second season of the musical comedy-drama television series Glee will premiere on September 21, 2010 on Fox in the United States, and is expected to consist of 22 episodes. The season will initially air in the 8 pm (ET) time slot on Tuesdays, then move to the 9 pm (ET) time slot on Wednesdays after a special episode following the 2011 Super Bowl. The season will be produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Ryan Murphy Television, with series creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk as executive producers, alongside Dante Di Loreto. The series focuses on a high school glee club called New Directions, set within the fictional William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio. Season two will follow the club through sectional and regional show choir competitions, to the national competition in New York City.

The seventh season of Desperate Housewives, a television series created by Marc Cherry, will begin airing on September 26, 2010. Season seven was originally going to be the final season, according to creator Marc Cherry. But he has a new plan to extend the series two more seasons, meaning an eighth and ninth season. Marc Cherry has signed a new two-year deal with ABC that will keep Desperate Housewives on the air until the year 2013, subject to negotiations with Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria Parker, the show's main actresses, who are all contracted for seven years.

Dexter is an American television drama series that centers on Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a blood spatter-pattern analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department, who moonlights as a serial killer. Dexter structures his killing around "The Code of Harry", a body of ethics and procedures devised by his adoptive father Harry (who was a Miami cop) to make sure Dexter never gets caught and ensure that Dexter kills only other killers. Harry also trained Dexter in how to interact convincingly with other people, despite being a sociopath, since the murder of his biological mother, Laura Moser, did in fact turn Dexter into a serial killer. Fringe is an American science fiction television series created by J. J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Stephanie Savage has revealed in an interview that the Dan and Serena story is "reactivated" and sorting through it will become a bigger story. She also revealed that the third season finale "Last Tango, Then Paris" had a big impact on Jenny and she'll be a changed person when she returns. Her return later this season will be "full of drama”. It has also been revealed she will be back in the first half of the season. The Gossip Girl website will be under construction and when it returns, it will debut “never before seen technology”.

Stargate Universe (often abbreviated as SGU) is an American - Canadian military science fiction television series and part of MGM's Stargate franchise. It follows the adventures of a present-day, multinational exploration team unable to return to Earth after an evacuation to the Ancient spaceship Destiny, which is traveling in a distant corner of the universe. The series, created by Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper, premiered on Syfy on October 2, 2009. The series features an ensemble cast and is primarily filmed in and around Vancouver, BC, Canada. A second season of 20 episodes was announced by Syfy in December 2009, and began airing in the United States on September 28, 2010.

Annie and Dixon struggle to adjust to their new lives while making friends and yet adhering to their parents' wishes. 90210 featured cast members from the original series, including Jennie Garth, Shannen Doherty, Tori Spelling, Ann Gillespie, and Joe E. Tata. However, starting with the third season none of these guest stars will be featured again.
