Tech N9ne Delivers New Video/Single, J6’s 11 Apr 8:36 PM (6 days ago)

Tech N9ne is one of the most legendary and iconic not only independent Hip-Hop emcees or artists, but artists ever. So it should be no surprise that his newest single is part dedication to one of the most legendary shoes of all-time, J6’s. The iconic shoe from the legendary Jordan brand that Michael Jordan won his first championship with. Tech N9ne with his legendary rapid fire flow with such lyrics as, “The winner is Tech N9ne and that I was applauds say I won to open up for EPMD at Kemper Arena. This fell on my graduation day so rap was meant for the N9na. ’91 what I had on my feet was real fancy and hip. The same year MJ won his first championship in J6’s.” Comparing his beginnings in rap and hip-hop to those of MJ’s greatness.

Tech N9ne also debuting an accompanying video for the track. Which sees Tech in all red Jumpman sweatsuit with matching black infrared Jordan 6’s outside by a basketball court. Plus in a sneaker shop performing the very banging new track. Old clips of Tech N9ne such as when he won the rap competition playing in the background at certain points of the video and Tech also paying homage to the old classic Spike Lee commercial for the Jordan 6’s in part of the video.

Kendrick Lamar & SZA Deliver Heartfelt New Video, luther 11 Apr 5:48 PM (6 days ago)

Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s smash hit record, luther, has been dominating the Billboard charts. Sitting at #1 on the Billboard 100 charts for seven straight weeks now and as they get ready to head out on their highly-anticipated Grand National Tour just a week from tomorrow on April 19th at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, MN. Kendrick and SZA debuted through Vevo earlier today the long-awaited awaited Karena Evans-directed video for the record.

A very heartfelt and warming visual. It opens in black-and-white with Kendrick Lamar and his onscreen partner up close and personal like they are ready to kiss before it flashes to Kendrick in regular color just sitting quietly by himself on a bench looking somewhat sad. Then starting to rap and sing the catchy opening hook and lyrics. As it also flashes back to black and white in a luxury hotel that has Kendrick and his partner up close and personal again. Right back into color as they lounge next to each other in their mansion with the walls opening to reveal Kendrick on a screen with a gfx covered in red. The actual song stopping as SZA in a luxury hotel comes in to knock on the door of where her onscreen significant other is and she is about to enter the room. The clip going back to Kendrick and his onscreen partner being intimate as they go up in an elevator. SZA then shown back in the hallway dancing and then back in the room in black and white getting cozy with her onscreen partner while singing her part of the chorus. The record then stopped to play part of the original Cheryl Lynn and Luther Vandross hit record, If This World Were Mine. That is sampled. As Kendrick’s onscreen partner comes down the elevator to see that original opening of Kendrick sitting down by himself on a bench looking sad. The visual still in black and white then going back and forth between various intimate scenes of both Kendrick and SZA with their onscreen partners. While they both sing back and forth the catchy hook and response, back and forth. Kendrick also seen in an eatery with his partner. The visual throughout going back and forth between black and white and color too. Kendrick and SZA towards the end of the video also seen on opposite sides of different empty benches like the one Kendrick opened the video in. The clip ending with Cheryl Lynn and Luther Vandross original hit record, If This World Were Mine, playing while Kendrick and his onscreen partner sitting next to each other intimately holding hands and SZA and her onscreen significant other codling in each other’s arms as they slow dance. For one of the most beautifully heartfelt and heartwarming tributes you will ever see to the late great Luther Vandross.

Amerie Makes Return With Nostalgically Soulful & Dreamy New Single, Mine 29 Mar 6:12 PM (19 days ago)

It has been some time since we have heard new music from GRAMMYs-nominated singer and songwriter, Amerie. The very beautifully talented singer releasing her two-part EP, 4AM Mullholland and After 4AM in October of 2018. The two EPs from Amerie together forming her latest album. The very talented singer and artist moving onto focusing on her book club she started not long after that and even publishing a children’s picture book You Will Do Great Things in 2023. Also having her son in 2018, who partially inspired the book.

Amerie recently celebrating the 20th anniversary of what is still her most iconic and greatest hit single to date, 1 Thing. The Grammy-nominated song taken from her also Grammy-nominated critically-acclaimed second album, Touch. That will also be celebrating its 20th anniversary in the next few weeks. Amerie whether by coincidence or not with the recent anniversaries has over the past several months been also working with iconic award-winning producer, Troy Taylor. To put final touches on a highly-anticipated and long-awaited currently untitled new album. Which she just yesterday released the album’s lead single, Mine. A very romantic ballad that finds Amerie over the soulfully nostalgic and dreamy twinkling keys, rhythmic percussion and a warm bassline production from Taylor. Singing so sensually and warmly about a lover she has such high hopes for and wants to be a lasting love. As she sings, “There’s something ’bout you, babe. I’ll make you mine. I’ll make you mine (I’ll find a way). Don’t want no one else, I’ll make you mine. I’ll make you mine (I want you, babe). Only you. Only you. (I want you babe).” On the chorus to let them know how she is going to have them be only her’s and no one else’s. The part of the bridge where Amerie very emphatically sings, “Baby I, I don’t wanna fight it. You know that we’re perfect. And I know we can be everything.” Really letting her know even more her dedication and commitment to her lover. While also showing Amerie’s very great versatility and talent as an artist too. As this is definitely on the more slower tempo and not as uptempo as we are usually used to hearing on the majority of Amerie’s previous lead singles such as Why Don’t We Fall in Love, Why R U and the already mentioned 1 Thing.

The new music also comes on the heels of Amerie recently announcing that she will be releasing her own debut novel, This Is Not a Ghost Story. That is currently available for pre-order and set for release this June. So this looks to be a very promising year for the multi-faceted and multi-award nominated singer and songwriter, as well as producer and writer. That author could also be added to as well.

Jessie Reyez proves once again why she is not only one of the best singers and songwriters, as well as one of a kind of vocalists of her generation with her just released new single NYB. But also one of its best hitmakers too. The very catchy new record one that finds Jessie flirtingly sing, “My New York baby (Yeah). Took his truck and picked me up at Newark. Then he took me to the telly. And he took his time. He said, “I know that you had a long flight. But I got something longer.” That really shows her very great knack for not only making great records and songwriting, but hit records as well.

Jessie Reyez just a little over an hour ago also premiering through Vevo. A very cinematically deadly new RELTA-directed accompanying video for the record. Which sees her in a work office having a good time dancing and singing the very catchy tune. As her boss and/or supposed lover goes through the office and a bathroom stall trying to stop Jessie from her madness before they eventually end up together in an office room together. In a deadly Kill Bill style showdown that plays like a mini-movie to bring the record even more to life. While also showing why from her songwriting to singing, performance and music videos. That Jessie Reyez is those once in a generation artists who truly always puts the ART in artist in almost everything she does.

The video itself debuted in conjunction as a celebration of sorts for Jessie Reyez’s just released highly-anticipated newest album, PAID IN MEMORIES. That is 21 new tracks and has features from everyone from Lil Wayne to Big Sean, Miguel, Ari Lennox, 6LACK, Lil Yachty, Deyaz, Lekan and Saint Herison. Including previously released singles PSILOCYBIN AND DAISIES, GOLIATH, JUST LIKE THAT, RIDIN, SHUT UP and JEANS. The album also in a bit of coincidental alignment dropping almost exactly five years after Jessie’s critically-acclaimed debut album that also stands as one of the most definitive debut albums of all-time, BEFORE LOVE CAME TO KILL US.

Samara Cyn & Sherwyn Debut Fun New Video/Single, Pop N Olive 4 Mar 2:42 PM (last month)

Rising rapper, singer and overall talented multi-hyphenate artist, Samara Cyn, first caught our attention last October when we highlighted her in our always very popular New Artist Spotlight feature. As one of the latest publications to highlight Cyn as an artist to watch and be on the radar of talented new artists for people to watch for 2024 and beyond. Putting out her highly lauded and highly-anticipated debut EP, The Drive Home. Not long after that. Samara stayed surprisingly somewhat quiet after that with the exception of releasing a few new videos a few weeks ago. Samara Cyn returns with a brand new single today though that’s her first new music here in 2025 with the Sherwyn-assisted, Pop n Olive. That is a very breezy, fun and smooth new record that’s perfect for the just on the verge warmer upcoming Spring season. Which will probably remind people of that nostalgic carefree Saturday morning vibe so many of us that grew up as children in the 80’s and 90’s grew up on.

Samara Cyn also debuting through Vevo just a few short hours ago a brand new Luciana Baldovino-directed accompanying video for the record. That is a just as carefree and fun new visual from her and Sherwyn. Which see the two rising on the verge artists and friends doing everything from riding bikes down blocks in the suburbs with their friends to playing in a park, setting off sparklers together at night and just dancing and grooving together in the streets by the end of the night. As they sing and rap the carefree and fun lyrics that are brought to life even more through the visual. Where both Samara Cyn and Sherwyn really show the infectious carefree spirit and nostalgic nature of the record that a lot of us who grew up as children in the 80’s and 90’s, as well as some that grew up in the early 2000’s can relate to. Everything from the record, production and video showing why Samara is such a talented artist we highlighted and continue to for those very reasons. Who will be around for plenty more years and generations to come.
