On its first Monday, Sky Force made box office collections of 8.10 crores. While most predicted it would stay under the 7 crore mark, Akshay Kumar’s film surprised yet again. The occupancies during the evening and night shows remained impressive, leading to some respectful figures at the box office.
As per the early trends, the action drama added another 6.5-7 crores to the kitty on day 5. It witnessed a drop of 20-13% compared to the earnings made on the first Monday. Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani’s directorial witnessed a morning occupancy of 6.53%, which surged to 10.87% in the afternoon and 12.38% during the evening shows.

It needs a positive word of mouth, which might result in some boost in the collection. The film is also facing a tough competition from another Tamil release, Madha Gaja Raja, which is going rock solid at the box office. Judge Lewis Jeffrey Liman of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York has officially scheduled the trial for March 9, 2026. The lawsuit will address Lively’s claims of sexual harassment and allegations that Baldoni orchestrated a smear campaign against her through Wayfarer Studios, producer Jamey Heath, publicist Jennifer Abel, and crisis manager and former associate of Johnny Depp, Melissa Nathan.

While the high-profile trial remains a year away, another key development will arrive much as a pre-trial hearing has been pulled from February 12 to February 3. It will tackle a gag order motion filed by Lively, who has requested restrictions on Baldoni and his team from sharing “inflammatory material.”
The context of the gag order stems from events following Baldoni’s release of footage from the filming of It Ends With Us. The clip captures Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni shooting an intimate dancing scene. Baldoni maintains that it disproves the Gossip Girl actress’ allegation regarding his remark, “You smell good,” which seemingly referred to her spray tan. In the video, Lively replies, “It’s not that. It’s my body makeup.”
Lively’s legal team has discerned Baldoni’s attempts to defend himself by publicly sharing evidence as a ploy to undermine her voice, obstinately echoing it exemplifies his slandering tactics. Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, repudiated these allegations, arguing that the footage was released solely to present “unedited truth.”
While Baldoni has also filed a separate lawsuit against The New York Times, seeking $250 million in damages for defamation, it remains unclear when it might head to trial. Baldoni alleges that the tabloid’s article traduced his reputation and falsely depicted him as a slanderer. About the Movie
The animated musical feature is the sequel to 2016’s Moana, which was directed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Mille. Auliʻi Cravalho as Moana, Dwayne Johnson aka Maui, Temuera Morrison, Nicole Scherzinger, Rachel House, and Alan Tudyk reprised their roles from the first film. In addition to them, Hualālai Chung, Rose Matafeo, David Fane, Awhimai Fraser, Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda, and Gerald Ramsey joined the star cast in the sequel.
Moana 2 received an average rating of 61% on Rotten Tomatoes by critics on its Tomatometer, while the audience gave it a strong 86%. The critics’ consensus read, “Riding high on a wave of stunning animation even when its story runs adrift, Moana 2 isn’t as inspired as the original but still delights as a colorful adventure.”

In the sequel, Moana and Maui set sail on a new voyage with a new crew of seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.
Moana 2 at the Box Office
According to reports, the movie was made on a budget of $150 million and collected around 6.8 times more than that. It was released on Thanksgiving in the US and had a glorious debut, collecting $139.78 million on its opening weekend.
It broke several box office records, including surpassing Frozen II’s Thanksgiving Day collection, registering the biggest Thanksgiving Day opening of all time. It has also broken the opening records of Deadpool & Wolverine and The Super Mario Bros Movie. The animated sequel became the fifth fastest animated film to cross $300 million in the US.
Moana 2 has collected $576.71 million at the international box office so far. Adding that to the film’s $449.9 million domestic cume, the sequel’s worldwide cume has reached $1.026 billion, becoming the third highest-grossing film of 2024.
Moana 2 on OTT Platforms
Disney’s sequel has finally made its debut on digital platforms. It is available on Prime Video, iTunes, Microsoft Store, and other digital retailers as PVOD. People can buy or rent the sequel online. Moana 2 will be streaming on Disney+, just like other Disney movies. According to Digital Spy’s report, the hit Disney movies wait at least 100 days before arriving on the home streaming platform. It is expected to arrive on Disney+ in March.

Sky Force, starring Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya, exceeded all expectations in the opening weekend and amassed over 70 crore net at the Indian box office. The number has been a pleasant surprise for many, as the film had a low pre-release buzz. Thanks to discounted ticket rates, it attracted huge footfalls and set the momentum. Now, it is working purely on word-of-mouth, and its day 4 collection proved that it will stay strong during weekdays.
After earning 73.20 crores during the opening weekend, the Bollywood action drama flexed its stronghold on the first Monday. As the weekend performance exceeded all projections, a drop of 50% or even a bit slightly higher was justified. All thanks to strong occupancy in evening and night shows, the biggie pulled off a surprising number by witnessing a fall of less than 50%.
On day 4, Sky Force scored 8.10 crores at the Indian box office. Compared to the opening day of 15.30 crores, the film dropped by 47.05% on the first weekday, which is a good hold. In fact, if we compare it with the last two big Republic Day releases of Bollywood, the Akshay Kumar starrer has shown the lowest Monday drop.

Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter was released last year on the eve of Republic Day. It opened at 24.60 crores, and on the first Monday, it scored 7.50 crores, a huge drop of 69.51%. In 2023, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan was released ahead of Republic Day. It opened at a staggering 55 crores (Hindi). On the first Monday, it earned 25.50 crores (Hindi), thus showing a drop of 53.63%.
As we can see, Sky Force has shown the best hold on Monday among recent Republic Day releases. If it continues to maintain the same momentum, it will emerge as a big money spinner at the Indian box office.

Mammootty’s latest theatrical release, Dominic And The Ladies’ Purse has failed to make an impact at the worldwide box office. After a low start, the film didn’t pick up momentum over the opening weekend, and on the first weekday, it witnessed a huge crash. Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, the Malayalam mystery comedy thriller was released on January 23. It had the benefit of the 4-day extended opening weekend, but the film failed to capitalize on it. It opened to mixed reviews from critics, and even among the ticket-buying audience, it is faring with mixed word-of-mouth. Such a mixed reception killed the potential to score big, resulting in a low score.
Dominic And The Ladies’ Purse opened at 1.75 crore net in India. On the first Monday, day 4, it was expected to show a regular 50% or slightly higher drop. But in reality, it crashed on Monday by earning just 47 lakh. Compared to day 1, it dropped by 73.14%. It pushed the overall collection to 6.87 crore net at the Indian box office. Including taxes, the gross domestic collection is 8.10 crores.

Overseas, Dominic And The Ladies’ Purse has done well so far, earning 7.05 crore gross, as per Sacnilk. The major contributor is the Middle East, which amassed over 5.30 crores in the extended opening weekend itself. Combining this overseas gross with the Indian gross, the worldwide box office collection of the film stands at 15.15 crore gross after five days.
