I've been having some strange issues with my Kuga around the DPF and having changed out the Vaporizer and DPF pressure sensor something that I noticed today was that, to my mind, the coolant temperature sits relatively low and that may be an issue for regeneration of the DPF.

Driving around & idling it was at 73C whereas I think it should be 80-90C? I was briefly able to touch 80C revving hard but it dropped back down very quickly.

Does anyone know what the range should be or have...

No shortage of forum members with a Mk 3 who have had to replace the 12 volt battery.
What is the exact procedure for resetting the battery assuming a different size or type of battery is replacing the existing one.
On the Escape forum there is mention of flashing the headlights and using the Brake pedal, has anyone with a Mk 3 successfully done this or is this one model it will not work on.

what additional item(s) would you like to see added to the Kuga.
For me it would be a warning bleep to remind you to shut the sunroof, I am always forgetting to close the thing in this hot weather.

Our car (2.0ltr 2wd diesel March 2015) has been with our local Ford garage for three weeks now and as yet the fault has still not been diagnosed. I've been in touch with Ford Customer Care (had to send all service history receipts etc) and received a call today from FCC to say that the next step is to remove the head but that the garage would contact us first as we would have to give approval.

Hi all wonder if someone can help. I have a ford kuga 2014 auto with awd. The rear differential is super noisy. Iv tried an oil change with no luck. Iv since emailed a few transmission companies to see if they can repair of fix the diff. Some companies have said no they can’t help as the can’t get the parts. One company has since asked me if I have a Haldex diff or an electronic diff. How would I know what one I have?

Last year I took it to a garage and they said that they found two leaks and they fixed one but the second one would be difficult to fix since they need to take all the car apart and this would cost me a lot of money. Air Con Issue

So over the last 3 plus years of owning my MHEV Kuga (from new) from time to time when I don't make any long journeys for a week I used to be sent the infamous "Remote features disabled to preserve battery" message.

However, in the last 7 days I have made 4 round trips of at least 60 miles each time yet twice this week I've been sent this message.

Should I be alarmed at this?
Is it time for a change of battery or some other fix mentioned before in these forums?

Thsi is a new thread I saw whilst on another Ford Forum and thought it may be a worthwile one to include on this one. It's pretty much self-explanatory and I guess should be all car-related new products ordered although if not and you're willing to share....it may create a laugh.

A few days ago I got my first OTA update in the Kuga. I had let it parked, went back and saw Priority Update ECG-24.2.5.6.2 just installed.
I searched a bit and saw that other Fords got that around September 2025 and it is mostly updating how OTAs are implemented.
Anyone else got it? Maybe they are considering of pushing the PHEV fix as an OTA.
As a note I have not received a note so I continue charging as normal.

I have noticed something weird.
For the last months, I use solely electricity to go around for my daily trips (EV Now). The temperatures have been moderate (live in Athens, Greece) so there was no need to activate neither heating nor air conditioning.
These last few days temperatures are climbing and air conditioning is required. So, when I activate it, the left side of the temperature gauge starts to get illuminated with solid blue, as if the engine has started warming up. I cannot hear...

On a separate chat I have been discussing the problems I encountered with my Kuga following a 2nd 12v battery failure (this time away from home). One of the issues was that without 12v power there does not appear to be a way of getting the car into neutral (to move it) and no guidance in the User Manual (or from the dealership!).

Iv'e had mine changed and the car is picking them up but it still comes up not detected after I drive my car a few miles why is this happening .

automatic gearbox is not engaging when cold into first gear or reverse. The gearbox has been inspected and there seems to be no problem with it.
id recently had the water pump and timing belt changed and the crank shaft position sensor was also changed. I was told it could be a fuel issue so they changed the fuel pump and filter and also they ended up changing the fuel injectors! Does anyone have any idea what could be causing the issue

My automatic gearbox would not engage from cold and I have had the transmission fluid changed it is still having this problem I have been advised to have the fuel filter changed is this right and is this a common problem

Cars been fine and then last week I got in and got hit wihth a load of messages and alarms. AWD malfunction, Hill start assist not available, ESC Service required, Pre collision Assist not available, Drive modes not available, Auto Hold not available, Park not available. Apply park brake before exiting.

Anyone else had the same issues and how was it resolved?

My Kuga doesn't seem to be filling to its maximum capacity. Although the gauge tells me the battery is full the mileage distance shown is too low. In addition the charge time from zero to full on a 3 pin plug is only five hours and thirty minutes. It should be six hours thirty minutes. In addition only about 11 kWh are added. Not in the region of 13-14.

Could I ask if anyone else is having this problem? If not could someone confirm how long it takes to charge from 0% to 100% on a 3 pin plug...

Here i go again. When I took delivery in Dec 2024 max charge was 22 miles at 100%. Over the subsequent months and ambient temperature rise this has increased to a massive 24miles!
What are you fellow PHEVers getting?
I know it's aguessometer but it does annoying me as my previous Phev was 30 miles plus.

I've had my new UK 2024 'Facelift' Kuga STLine-X PHEV for just over a month. The electric range is TERRIBLE.

I'm not very happy as I bought the PHEV based on expecting to get around 30 miles pure electric range on a charge and this would cover my daily journeys. When I picked the car up, it said 31 miles of electric range, but that's a distant memory as I'm actually getting less than 20!

I need some help with my factory navigation. I successfully unlocked the system, installed the 3.08 navigation app, and generated the sdcard.key without any issues. The navigation launches and calculates the route correctly, but it only shows main roads and the route line – there are no streets and minor roads visible.

I also tried updating to version 3.10, but the result is the same.

Any idea where to start troubleshooting? Could it be an issue with the map files I...

Turns over normally, but won't start. IC U1900-20 identified with forscan. Mobile mechanic suggested sending away the instrument cluster for analysis and repair if necessary. I've done this, the company confirmed there were faults, and they've been repaired. Cluster re-fitted, but the problem is still there. Hi all, I’m looking at buying a Kuga, 1 reg’d Sept 2009, Euro 4, 2.0 tdci 134?ps The seller says it doesn’t have a DPF. I’ve read of 2008 Kugas that had a DPF so I’m wondering if this car was built with one (I was thinking they’d all be the same) and it’s been removed at a later date? (In which case I would avoid!) Hi I have a 2015 Kuga (I’m not sure what mk it is if anyone could help with that also please) the main problem with mine is when I do short distance driving nothing pops up but If I do more of a longer drive I always get the tyre sensors not detected check handbook come up on the dashboard I clear it daily but always seems to come on any help or ideas please

This has been bugging me since I got the car.

I get in close the door, put the seatbelt on and press the ignition.
'Sometimes' the car emits a 'bong bong' noise, but there's no accompanying warning message on either of the screens. It's about 50% of the time that it does it.

Does anyone know if the 2013 Ford Kuga Titanium 2.0 TDCI comes with a Tire Monitoring system. My wife had a puncture with no warning at all. Someone at the robot had to advise her that the tire was flat. Luckily for her she wasn't too far from the Service Station.
It was frightening for her as she was almost on the freeway and GOD Knows what could have happened if she was at Top Speed.

For some reason the sensor that alert you to being near objects has stopped working.
Pressing the sensor button does not appear to do anything and no message on screen when button is pushed.
Not checked fuses but am reluctant to do so as getting the cover back on is a task in itself.
Anything I could possibly check before booking it in, fortunately still under warranty.
Could be a coincidence but stopped working after wiring dash cam in. Connected to fuse 3 as others have done.

I have the Mk3 plug-in hybrid, 22 plate.
Recent recall was the High voltage battery safety recall that has captured everyone’s attention.
After a month of driving on the hybrid only system, yesterday the car battery failed, essentially a dead battery. A few days prior I noticed the automatic boot closure/open had failed to operate. Lots of failure messages appeared also.
It’s at FORD today as the spanner and check engine light came on as a result. Just out of warranty. Be aware

It's always been looked after, had one battery issue and replaced 4 years ago. Whilst merrily driving the other day, I was bombarded with:

Hi there so I bought a retractable genuine ford tow bar with modules and wiring from market place. This came off a 2016 kuga. I won't have a problem doing the work to fit it. Its just that when reading up on it, it seams to not be compatible with my 2015 mk2 kuga. Only 2016 mk2 onwards. But looking at the tow bar and the fittings it looks like it will fit. Would it be the programing that wouldn't be compatible. As everything else looks like it's fine.
