Hi,

I'm working with excel macros (which are quite complex) and have been experiencing a problem with "key mapping" around the CMD key.
In Excel Debug - happily stepping into and over subs (CMD-SHFT-I or CMD-SHFT-O). After a little while (not preceise or similar times) I will press CSI/CSO and all I get is the letter "I" or "O".
At this point if I switch to anything else...

Hi all!
After many yearsof being a Mac guy I switched to Linux about 15 years ago after deciding Apple was never going to make any desktop hardware I would want. And Linux has been pretty sweet.
But..
I am kinda tired of being on the outside looking in at a lot of nice features that Macs have gained since Apple started its own line of CPUs. I use an iPhone so I crave the integration that iOS and MacOS have.
My current rig is a i7 3770 based Dell w/ 12GB ram and it handles my needs just fine...

Hello,
I'm helping someone with their 2016 MacBook PRO and am now stumped myself.
They bought the MacBook a year ago from a phone shop and have said it has been trouble ever since - screen going blank, randomly shutting down and getting the folder/question mark.
They took it back to the phone shop who charged for reinstalling the OS but then said it has water damage and needs a new motherboard.
Using Internet Recovery I was able to erase the SSD and reinstall Mojave.
Then I ran the...

As retired advertising copywriter, I worked almost my entire career on Macs. Nowadays, I websurf, webshop, read the news, email and most importantly, keep track of the various ills, tests and appointments that come with age. No gaming. No streaming. This MacBook rarely leaves my desk. It has gotten slower over the years, and I occasionally run into a site that won't run on it. The shop that...

I have a 2020 M1 Mac mini, 16 GBs of RAM, 500GB storage (82 GB free) running on macOS Sonoma 14.5.
What happens is:
-randomly (no interval nor after an action, sometimes happens more often, sometimes they don't at all) all input devices freeze (meaning

-mouse
-keyboard
-joysticks
-microphones
-but with the microphones: my friends report that if this happens, they hear me repeating the words where the lag began (like if it starts with me saying "Watch out, be ready"...

Hi everybody,
I just did a clean install of Lion on my Mac and in my keychain utility I have two untrusted "system" certificates:
Com.apple.kerberos. kdc
Com.apple.systemdefault
I have done a lot of research online but found so much conflicting info! Some say these certificates should not be there and to delete them, others say deleting them will cause system instability, others say they are a bug that Apple is aware of.
I am hoping some of you kind folks on the forum can help me find...

Hi,
Thanks for all the previous help.
Blame it on my age now, but am stumped with this.
I have over 2,000 photos on iPhone.
Want to share with another party; way too much to send them via e Mail.
So, I bought one of these USB style sticks that has one end to plug into the iPhone, and the
other end being a normal USB male to plug into a pc.
O.K. So, I plug it into the iPhone.
No (new) indication that the iPhone has seen it.
The Select Items box shows on the bottom, so I can select 1...

Hi, I currently have a 2015 Intel MBP and think it’s time to upgrade.
I use a 16" M1 Pro at work and love it, but it's not mine, and I need permission to install apps. I want my own machine.
I mostly do:
FCPX: Editing 4K footage (basic colour correction, optical stabilisation, no heavy effects).
Lightroom: RAW photo editing (minor tweaks, applying LUTs).
VS Code: Web development (no Xcode).
Figma: Occasional design work.
I used an external SSD for my last video project, so I’m unsure...
