Indie developer Mooneye Studios has unveiled their upcoming coop adventure at this year’s Triple-i Initiative showcase. The game can be wishlisted on Steam, Playstation 5, Xbox Series and the Epic Games Store.
Ikuma is a coming-of-age story, where you play as cabin boy Sam and his sled dog Ellie who are stranded on an uncharted island in the Arctic in 1864. The player can either take on the adventure solo and freely switch between the two protagonists, or play cooperatively with a friend at their side.
Sam and Ellie’s journey takes you through unfamiliar terrain and harsh weather. You’ll make use of the few tools you can find on the island, fish, forage for food and try to keep yourself and your companion warm. On your way through the open world, you’ll find fading traces of a long lost expedition and uncover a dark secret.
From the team behind indie hit Lost Ember, comes a touching tale of friendship, loss and endurance, 5 years after their debut title released. “We’re ridiculously nervous, yet, thrilled, to finally be able to talk about what we’ve been working on in secret for the past 5 years.” CEO and story writer Tobias Graff says, adding “We cannot wait to hear what people think of Ikuma.”
IKUMA: The Frozen Compass releases 2026 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series and can now be wishlisted everywhere.
Strictly Limited announced the upcoming release of Farming Simulator 16-Bit Edition for Mega Drive/Genesis compatible consoles.
This limited edition is the result of a unique collaboration with game publisher and developer GIANTS Software, following the success of their Farming Simulator 25 Collector’s Edition, which launched in November 2024 exclusively for PC, while the Standard Edition was released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The Collector’s Edition featured a retro cartridge-style version, which received overwhelmingly positive feedback from both fans and collectors. The response was so strong that it prompted GIANTS Software to explore a standalone, retro version—leading to this dedicated 16-bit release with Strictly Limited.
This unique retro adaptation of Farming Simulator will be available in two collectible formats: a Limited Edition, launching on May 14, 2025, and a Deluxe Edition, arriving in July 2025. Both editions will be available exclusively through the Strictly Limited Store. Each Strictly Limited edition will include an exclusive green cartridge, produced in a total quantity of only 1,000 units worldwide. The green cartridge is unique to the Strictly Limited Store and will not be available elsewhere, making it a highly sought-after item for collectors. The Limited Edition will retail at €49.99, while the Deluxe Edition—which includes additional collectible content—will be priced at €69.99.
Retro Cartridge Returns at Select Retailers
In addition to the Strictly Limited store exclusive editions, a separate edition featuring a black cartridge will be made available by Strictly Limited to select retail partners such as Amazon for the global market and VideoGamesPlus in North America. While the content of the game remains the same, the cartridge color and packaging will clearly distinguish the retail version from the Strictly Limited exclusive editions.
A rare opportunity awaits retro gaming enthusiasts and fans of the Farming Simulator series to experience the franchise in a fresh format, reimagined with the authentic feel of classic 16-bit gameplay. Both editions are fully compatible with Mega Drive/Genesis-like retro hardware and reflect Strictly Limited’s ongoing commitment to preserving and celebrating gaming culture through high-quality physical releases.
Dagger Froggy is the latest Survivors clone but with its own gimmick. Instead of constantly shooting within a massive environment, the playable frog can only toss one dagger in a straight line to defeat enemies. After the dagger is thrown, it is needs to be retrieved before it can be thrown again. At first, I was initially annoyed at this strange mechanic as it slows the pace of play, making it tedious. However, after I completed my first round, unlocking some permanent upgrades along the way, I was hooked. Also, where else can you play as a murderous amphibian who wants to literally kill everything?
Retrieving your weapon after a single use on a non-scrolling screen sounds limiting on paper but quickly becomes addicting and entertaining in practice. The goal is to survive for ten continuous minutes. At the conclusion of each wave, the player can upgrade an ability from a randomly drawn group. If you don’t like the options provided, they can be swapped for some gold, gold that can also be spent on the main menu to buy permanent abilities.
In time, the player can increase the amount of throwable daggers and have them auto-retrieve after a moment. A shield can absorb a physical hit while a protective barrier can reflect an incoming bullet. Then there are numerous offensive abilities to utilize like chucking a bomb, launching stars that float in circles, or spawning a statue that unleashes a few bullets. Within a few minutes, the game goes from an easy-going, slow, almost boring pace to a frantic bullet hekk, getting surrounded by all types of enemies as each wave begins. As crazy as it gets, the player is armed with the tools needed to survive until the end.
The pixel art is almost like playing a simple cartoon and the goofy, bubbly soundtrack fits the chaos of the gameplay. There are only four stages, but they play pretty much the same. The graveyard stage, for example, limits your view with dark spots but doesn’t really make the experience any different. The final stage includes a boss battle which is a nice change of pace though.
I have two complaints, although they are minor in comparison to the overall fun factor. First, the player can only throw the daggers in the four main directions. Even when using the right analog stick to toss the daggers, there is no option to throw at angle, for example. At first, I was annoyed by this game design choice, but I quickly changed my mind after unlocking a few abilities; it isn’t needed. Secondly, there are dozens of playable frogs to unlock and abilities to upgrade. Unfortunately, it only takes 2-3 hours to unlock it all. Once unlocked, there isn’t much replay value especially since there is no high score leaderboard, a feature oddly missing.
Dagger Froggy is a Survivors clone done right and contains enough of a gimmick to call it its own. While it doesn’t have the legs of Vampire Survivors, it is definitely one of the better survivor-likes that I’ve played. Achievement hunters will also want to take note as it is an easy and fun way to boost Gamerscore at a low cost.

The original Gameboy version of Marble Madness has a feature that is missing from other handheld ports – the included 2-player link cable mode!
The GameGear version and even the Gameboy Color port, which was released many years later, did not include the 2-player mode, making this more of a definitive version even with diminished visuals.
Developed and published by DYSTOPIAN, Gnomes stands as a true testament to the value of an all but forgotten genre. Primarily a tower-defese strategy, the game cleverly expands on the previously trending genre with some clever tweaks that elevate the fun-factor substantially.
So, if you’re looking for a fresh approach to turn-based strategy, Gnomes is your answer – offering a charming yet complex experience that’s pretty easy to pick up but seldom relents on challenging the player. With a clever amalgamation of roguelike elements and tower-defese mechanics, the aim of the game in Gnomes is to protect your crops from waves of pesky goblins while expanding your base as you push further into the game.
With procedurally generated maps, endless replayability, and plenty of strategic customization, Gnomes is a deeply engaging and addictive title for fans of tactical video games.
First and foremost, Gnomes is a turn-based tower defense game. However, it shakes up the formula with a unique strategic twist. Each turn, you can move your gnomes around as much as you like, allowing for careful positioning and last-minute adjustments to put you in the best position for the imminent goblin attacks.
The ability to freely reposition the gnomes allows for some real deep thinking and strategic play. Rather than simply dropping random defenses and hoping for the best, Gnomes urges you to think several moves in advance, anticipate goblin movements, and spend wisely. Would you invest in building up your resources, or would you instead focus on strengthening your defenses? Each run presents new challenges, ensuring no game feels the same as the last.
One of the things that stood out to me in Gnomes is the sheer variety of strategic possibilities. The game offers a vast range of relics, crops, tools, and buildings, each holding their very own unique effects and results. As you progress, you’ll gain access to randomly dealt upgrades, giving you total control of how you approach the game.
For example, some relics might enhance your gnomes’ abilities with power-ups and boosts, while others improve the defense of your crops. Finding the right balance between resource generation and protection is key to success here. Every choice you make affects the flow of the game and those that push the boundaries, learn the game and think tactically will be rewarded.
One of Gnomes’ most notable features is its forever expanding map. Unlike traditional tower defense games, where you defend a single area, here the world gets bigger with every passing day. This spells fresh opportunities for gathering those resources but also the birth of new threats.
As you explore, you’ll encounter diverse biomes, each with unique goblin forces, hazards, and environmental challenges. The procedural generation of the maps ensures that every run feels different to the last. One game you might find yourself navigating a dense forest with scarce sightlines, while another could throw you into a barren desert where water is as rare as hen’s teeth.
This variety keeps the game engaging and works wonders to prevent it from feeling repetitive.
Another standout feature is the guild system. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, Gnomes allows you to choose from different guilds that each offering clear-cut advantages and styles of play. Each guild starts with a unique gnome type, a specialized economy, and a game-changing relic.
Some guilds might be better suited for the war-hungry berserkers among us, allowing you to bring the heat straight to the enemy, while others may excel in filling the coffers and forming a strong defense. This system adds even more replayability by allowing the player to test different guilds alongside their own tactics.
Gnomes features an Endless Mode that ramps up the difficulty with each passing night. Once you’ve defeated the fearsome Goblin King for the first time, you’ll have the option to continue your run with an endless stream of challenges, facing rapidly growing waves of enemies. It’s a great way to test out powerful builds and see just how long you can survive.
Gnomes is a delightful mix of strategy, tower defense, and roguelike mechanics and offers many hours of immersive gameplay. Its blend of turn-based tactics, procedural generation, and deep customization makes every game unique. Whether you enjoy meticulously planning your defenses or adapting to spontaneous challenges, this game has something for you.
With its retro-esque aesthetic, clever mechanics, and endless replayability, Gnomes is a must-play for fans of strategic titles. It’s time to gather your gnome hordes, protect your crops and take the fight to those pesky goblins.

From the creative minds at Kylyk Games and published by Assemble Entertainment, Urban Jungle is a brand new green-fingered simulation game that bathes the player in a wholesome light and draws on idyllic charm to create a real feel-good title, perfect to celebrate the dawning of Spring.
Turn Your Small Apartment into a Natural Retreat
As the title would suggest, Urban Jungle is a game in which you transform small, urban apartments into indoor Gardens of Eden.
Working with such small homes, however, means the player will need to utilize their space to ensure their plants will flourish and bloom in all their flowery glory.
With a green-thumbed protagonist at the helm, you wouldn’t be blamed for assuming your line of business would include watering and maintaining the plants. However, in Urban Jungle, you leave all the fussing and ferning (see what I did there?) over the plants to the customer. Leaving you solely with the tranquil (and surprisingly addictive) process of placing the plants in the perfect places to create the most aesthetically pleasing havens.
Kylyk Games created Urban Jungle with relaxation and tranquility at the forefront of their minds. They have taken away any of the stresses in modern gaming by not using any high-pressure scenarios or even a time limit.
Urban Jungle is to be enjoyed at a pace of the player’s choosing. This allows for a peaceful experience and a real escape from the many woes of the real world.
The same can even be said about the heartening storyline that does a great job of keeping a steady and gentle pace by slowly unravelling as you progress through the game. There’s no twisting and turning narrative to keep track of, just a wholesome and warming story to enjoy.
It’s More Than Just Plants
While plants play a huge part in Urban Jungle, they aren’t the game’s sole focus. The primary goal is to achieve beauty from the bland. There are many different objects that you can interact with such as humidifiers, lamps and furniture.
There are no real objectives to lander to in Urban Jungle and no rules. Just relax, recrupriate from those hard days at work and create the perfect ambience suited to you.
Graphically Mellow
In a game that lays so much attention of creating spots of real beauty, it would negate the whole premise if the actual game didn’t deliver in the graphics department and, thankfully, Kylyk Games hasn’t rushed through this aspect of game development and instead deliver smooth graphics in calming pastel hues that add to the warmth and charm of the game.
System Requirements
Due to it’s simplicity, Urban Jungle doesn’t need a supercomputer to run. While still offering a charming aesthetic, it can still be ran from standard machines – a definite plus, in my view.
Minimum:
OS: Windows 10
Processor: Intel i5-6400
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: GTX 1060
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 1 GB available space
Summary
Urban Jungle would be an ideal choice for those looking to escape the drudges of day-to-day life into a world of beauty and relaxation.
With its pick-up-and-go approach to game play, along with the eradication of any stressful time restrains and high-pressue scenarios, Urban Jungle is the perfect safe haven to unwind in after a hard day.
Gentle, wholesome, relaxing and engaging – Urban Jungle has a thumbs-up from me.
If you’re someone who likes to try before you buy, there’s a short demo available on the Steam Store. With nothing to lose, it’s certainly worth a try.Gentle, wholesome, relaxing and engaging – Urban Jungle has a thumbs-up from me.
