- Assure best control of disease activity with regular check-ups and personalized therapy plan
- Proactively manage allergies which can cause symptoms of fever (hay “fever”) / inflammation
- Consult with an endocrinologist or ob/gyn specialist to manage hormonal changes if needed
- Preventive vaccinations may effectively minimize risk or severity of infections that cause fever
- Light-colored, loose-fitting clothing may allow more efficient natural cooling and aid mobility
- Hand-held / battery-operated fans can enhance natural cooling & minimize A/C energy costs
- Cooling vests or ice packs may provide generalized or localized relief as individuals may prefer
- Cooling pillows and towels can work well during the night to promote highest quality sleeping
- Sun shades and cooling car seat covers can help maintain comfortable temperature on travel

We traveled, we learned, we made some new friends and were reunited with some old ones. SPHERES is a collaborative observational registry designed to collect real-world data on NMOSD patients to characterize the natural history of the disease, understand patterns of care, and explore clinical outcomes including effectiveness, patient experience, and safety events.
A standardized set of clinical outcome assessments will be collected from both patients and their treating neurologist at the time of enrollment and approximately every 6-months during the course of routine clinical care.
Target enrollment is approximately 800 NMOSD patients with no defined upper limit on enrollment. Approximately 35 clinical sites in the US and Canada will be recruited to participate. The registry is a long-term observational study. Sites will be compensated for their efforts.
